The only case I know of was Vizzini who made himself known to us in
private and was willing to discuss his need to remain semi-anonyous. We
still have other developers who to date have not done this and have
made no promise of ever comming out and defending a working in
question.

We have had (possible) copyright violations by authors that are not
remaining anonymous, so I am not trying to say that by remaining
anonyous you are trying to do something wrong. All I am saying is that
NO OTHER major Free Software project allows this and its because there
is no way to protect the work in question according to the law. At
least I cant think of a single free software project that allows large
part of the work to be effectly copyright-less unless said work is
public domain.
