There is available a new Bochs release.
I just tried it - seems it works reliable and this one is now optimized.
(The last prerelease was really slow, I had to compile it myself.)

- new nsis2.0rc1 win32 installer script
- legacy VBE ioports are enabled when usb is disabled

This should be the last pre-release of Bochs 2.1, so 
please give it a try, and report problems.
