[ros-kernel] updating ROS

Hi,
finally I compiled the ROS CVS tree. I also have done an installation on 
my second computer from the last iso-Image. I'm afraid the serial mouse 
doesn't work there. In the ML archive I read about changing the 
hivesys.inf (activating sermouse.sys). I'd like to do this and 
recompile. Now my Question:

If I recompile the system, can I simply replace the "old" ntoskrnl.exe 
on the testcomputer by the new compiled one? Or do I need more files or 
stuff like that?
