[ros-kernel] ROS NTFS Install

I also think it would be nice, but actually the user has the ability to run
ReactOS already preinstalled in BOCHS, and (I don't know the most recent
situation) in QEMU, which is actually much faster than BOCHS.
So I don't think much efforts should be spent on doing this - better improve
the way it works now, or help me to get into USB stuff :) (please don't take
in offence, everyone is free to do what he/she wants).
But to tell the truth the most interesting thing would be not what you
mentioned, but creating a CD, from which ROS can be booted. Without touching
HDD at all --- this is what people want, I got a number of requests for such
a thing -- all my friends wanted to boot it from CD, rather than under
virtual machine - or even worse - installing into their working computers.
With the best regards,
Aleksey Bragin.

I second that, and would recommend the ability to install ROS in a Virtual
Image File, much like WinLinux does. This would allow people to not touch
their hard disks at all, and have the OS in an image.
Best regards,

Subject: [ros-kernel] ROS NTFS Install
Hello All developer of ROS.
I spent a few hours for trying to install ROS on NTFS, and I realized that
probably it is not possible with current version. right?
This would be very little problem for you, but for a marketing point of
view,
really big problem. No one makes a new partition for ROS, which has almost
no practical usage currently.
How about adding "loop back" install function to ROS?
I mean, you make c:/ROS/system32 and put a loop back loader there,
and put ROS.fat32 which is very big file on c:/ROS.
In other words, how about we cooperate to develop a loop back install
function for
both ROS and conoppix ( and for topologi Linux also).
This development makes the OSes newbie friendly, then many average PC users
would come. some people hate an average user, but I think it is good.
because, more user, even they dont hack, means more suggestion, more
debugger, and
hopefully more donation.
