ARM-rpc

From ReactOS

Jump to: navigation, search

This page is intended to be for development and collabartion for a possible port of ReactOS to the ARM based RiscPC (and possibly Iyonix) architectures.

The systems concerned are :

RiscPC based architecture:

- The Original Risc PC - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RiscPC
- The recently released A9Home http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A9Home

Iyonix Architecture:

- The Iyonix system - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iyonix_PC

Both systems employ an ARM based CPU, although the IO system used varies between the system. Docuementation on some of the internal hardware on the RiscPC architecture can be found via a link on: http://arcem.sourceforge.net/developer.html#news

The Risc PC supported a PC Hardware card support/source for which exist here (http://www.riscos.info/index.php/PC) although the Windows side drivers are of PRE NT vinatge from inital appearances... :(

Information on the Iyonix system is less avialable although there is some information in respect of RiscOS at : http://www.iyonix.com/ and http://www.iyonix.com/32bit/ It doesn't sadly go into much depth in terms of hardware, concentrating instead on the RISC OS calls :(

Parts of Risc OS 5 have recently been released as 'shared' source, at riscos.open.org, The usefulness of this code to an Iyonix port is debatable given the policy that exists here in respect of code hygiene.
