Hello :)
I'm Andrew, otherwise known as Silver Blade (or silverblade in the IRC channel). This name came about because my initials are the chemical symbol for Silver.
I live in Oxfordshire, England.
What I'm Involved With
I've been dipping in and out of ReactOS for quite some time, and hope to get ReactOS to make some noise eventually.
To have complete sound support, it requires a user-to-kernel-mode interface driver for MME (for NT4 drivers), a partial Kernel Streaming system (for WDM drivers from Win 98 to XP), and a user-mode streaming system (for applications dependent on Vista's advanced audio facilities.)
This is a pretty tall order. Especially as much of the groundwork is still missing. I've gathered some relevant information together here:
Current components being worked on:
- MME Buddy - Common MME user-mode driver support library
- Sound Blaster support (NT4 compatible, using the above library)
Personal Information
I have a strange sense of humour, though I can't tell any decent jokes. At times I can be a little crazy, but don't let that scare you.
But generally I'm quite a calm and thoughtful person - often described as being a daydreamer.
