"if you don't know C, you're useless and we don't want you". This policy needs to be thrown out completely, as it's not only counterproductive, it's also elitist. Its not a that far step from Basic to C. If you know how to programm, that is. Sure, you could build most tools with some Visu...

[WinNT] Device names under NT? (/dev/foo under *nix)

Is there a way under NT to acsses devices like under *nix?
I have written the MMC64 emulation for VICE and under Linux i can easily give my emulation a real MMC cart with /dev/sdc (name can vary on other systems ;) )
How can i do that under the NT Kernel?

On nowadays machines you dont need to compile yourself.
Someone tested it with the linux kernel, stock versus selfmade, and the performance boost was somewhere in the 0.5%, IOW, not worth the work.
I assume its the same with the ros-kernel.

Um, yeah, sure, what a rescource hog.
Please, dear dev team, dont let ROS become such a res-hog.
I want to, for example, install it on some old p2-200 with 128 MB and it should run smoothly.

Direct GDI code is evil  ;)
But as, AFAIK, GTK for Win32 just wraps to GDI it should be fine to use.
I dont mind it when GTK is shipped with ReactOS.
Any opinions from the devs?

As said, there is a big "alpha" stamp on the package.
I am watching ROS since 0.1.6 and it has come a long road for a spare time project.
If anyone with 'some' more money than Joe Average would hire some programmers that then could work fulltime then 1.0.0 would happen alot faster ;)
