Re: Newish Website Congrats!
Hi Vicmarcal, So, unfortunately, it will never be done according to your expectation. That is a problem all developers and designers have to live with every day! We always feel we can do better or more, but really it is done. ;) You will always want to tweak it here and there, or add some new sectio...

Newish Website Congrats!
Hi Guys, I don't know who is doing the new website. But I just wanted to point out that it is really an awesome website. I was so used to the old one, and for the past year I could not actively visit and participate on the website (real life issues). So visiting the site today, it is just a pleasure...

Re: just check the lastest build
Funny enough, I'm also enjoying reading and understanding more about the OS and what it really are doing below the surface. Although I have a degree with Programming as major, I did not have formal training on low level coding or OS level operations. So I have to read up and figure things out in my ...

Re: Generic name for Microsoft Windows
When I need to refer to all Windows OSes and ReactOSes I would just say "Windows based Operating Systems". It is similar to calling all the Linux distro's and variants "Unix based OSs". If you only refer to the Linux distro's you would call it "Linux based OSs". Windows...

Re: Change Display Drivers Possible?
I just checked but when I paste the text into CMD, it seems to be changed to ASCII only. The strange x then looks like a normal x.
I did not test replacing the x though, will do that when I have more time.

Re: Change Display Drivers Possible?
Oh you are too kind; A mere copy and paste solution! So my ReactOS does not want to boot when I install Guest Additions :( and I am testing 0.4 RC1. So I went for option 2. When I tried the CustomVideoMode2 my VBox gave a error complaining about an invalid custom video mode when I started the VM... ...

Re: Change Display Drivers Possible?
Just for completeness I just found this thread: https://www.reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13728&p=112818&hilit=display+driver#p112818 It explains that some VirtualBox driver can do it, but I don't know where to get it? Do I need to install VirtualBox Guest Additions? (Unfortunate...

Change Display Drivers Possible?
Hi Guys, I'm hoping that someone that have been able to achieve this, or have experience in trying this, can just give me direction... I would like to have "widescreen" video resolutions in ReactOS. I'm currently running it in VirtualBox. Is it possible to download and install a 3rd party ...

Re: creating an operating sytem(im not a programmer)
There are a lot of debates on this subject. Because I have a fetish for explaining things I'll try to detail the field. There aren't a lot of solid definitions of a kernel, [...] Wow @Konata! I literally leaned a whole book of knowledge from you in this one post. You really put it simple. Do you wr...

Re: Sharing files between windows 7 and ReactOs on Virtualbo
I realise this is an old thread, and that people don't like when you post to them for some odd reason... but, I would like to mention that there is another simple way of sharing files that I posted about a few years back: https://www.reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12969&p=105461&h...
