Re: ReactOS installed on actual hardware
You might think that but you really ought to set your expectations down a notch or two.

Re: Compatibility Concerns: Running ReactOS on Intel Core i7 Laptop Hardware?
Do NOT 'use' ReactOS. It is suitable for testing and edge-case experimentation only. You can test it and see what errors it throws up. That will be a success in itself. Do NOT 'use' it.

Well, that just proves that bots are more intelligent than 90% of our forum posters. It was a beautiful reply, in context, good grammar and a useful and informative response.

Re: What is ReactOS currently useful for?
Probably best to raise your own new thread when discussing a new issue. Alternatively, search for a matching issue on JIRA to see if it has been raised before.

Re: What is ReactOS currently useful for?
OP In addition to your few requirements there are other uses, some potential uses and some current. See this list: https://reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15868 I always suggest with regard to ReactOS you lower your expectations but come to the forum armed with some knowledge beforehand. S...

Re: Trying to get Gmax to work
That's good. Try various apps out and give them a go. Pass that successful experience into the "Epic Win" thread that you'll find there in the forum. Pictures required! Any failing apps, ReactOS JIRA will tell you if the issue has been encountered before. New issues can be raised on JIRA u...

Re: Trying to get Gmax to work
The problem is that you may have too high expectations. Generally, we do not install software on ReactOS to use but instead only to test whether it runs, fails or produces unexpected side-effects. Each is a positive at this point in development as it provides information. If you are planning on inst...

Re: Does reporting hundreds of random 32-bit software bugs really help ReactOS?
Basically, ReactOS is full of bugs and will be so on and off until it reaches beta. At that point there will only be ALL the remaining bugs to fix and those hundreds of new bugs that we find/create. Find something creative to do instead. Perhaps join the epic win thread with posssssiiitive news here...

Re: ReactOS UI Steampunk Concept
Correct, the stamp fires up thunderbird. The trinkets really just act as large icons that you can resize using CTRL+mousewheel and assign any function to. I also use the sovereign to fire up libre office Calc. The others are just part of a moveable, dynamic desktop and they are fun. Have a look at h...

Re: ReactOS UI Steampunk Concept
I awake this thread from the dead! This is my current desktop on Windows 4K, with all my recent widgets displayed. These are my new VB6 standalone desktop widgets, graphical duplicates of the old Yahoo Widget versions that are becoming increasingly obsolete. I'm writing them in VB6 as I am quite pro...
