Re: Website revamped - awesome!! :D

I'm not gonna lie, but I love what you guys have done here with the whole redesign. Everything looks so much better, and even the forum system with the smaller font, more minimalistic feel makes it just all tie together. Great job guys, seriously!

Re: How is ReactOS Going to Stay Relevant?

Not only that, but it's a good starting point for those who want to fully understand the current mechanics on how Windows is what it is today. Since it's hard to go through previous version of Windows in a class, play around what the files, etc. without having to either A; torrent it, B; illegally d...

Re: ReactOS future or past

If anything it will have to be compared with previous versions of Windows. Even then though, isn't that what people still want/wanted? Another version of XP that was actually free to use, had updates, and was actively maintained? I'm sure that even after a few years of Windows 10 being out people wi...

Re: Hello!

Welcome! This project is pretty awesome if you ask me, I just wish that it had more developers (I'd help but I don't have the current knowledge to do anything useful really). I love the operating system, and have used it for various side projects of my own.

Re: Open source MacOS

Honestly the best and closest thing to Mac OS that is free (although it's not based in BSD but in Linux) is Pear. You can visit there website, which is: http://pearlinux.fr/ On a sidenote, it seems that they were "bought out" by someone else, however a quick Google search will give you the...

Re: state of affair with kickstarter ?

I do agree, I wish that they would put this project on KickStarter (or some similar website) to build more interest to those who haven't heard of ReactOS. Not only would this generate more people to help debug, build, or suggest things, but it also would allow for more developers to possibly visit a...

Re: 0.3.15 RC Testing

On the testing center it doesn't show that the newest version of Firefox doesn't work, it also doesn't show that mIRC 6.35 from the Application Manager doesn't work either since it lists mIRC 6.35 as working just fine.

Re: 0.3.15 RC Testing

mIRC 6 installation in the application manager doesn't work, also FireFox's newest version causes a blue screen once it installs. If you try to upgrade from a lower version it does the same thing, although it'll basically brick FireFox from working again. (I don't personally have the blue screen cod...

Re: Re-checking the ReactOS project - a large report

Wow this is pretty interesting, hopefully the developers will use this to clean up the code a bit since it could explain why ReactOS has bugs or acts the way it does with certain actions and programs.

Re: Programs that should come with ReactOS

I don't think MalwareBytes should be, and a few others on your list. Although it is a great list, it is suited for one person's wishes rather then the community as whole. If anything ReactOS needs to come with a default internet browser (such as Wine's Internet Explorer), and that's really it since ...

Re: Education & Research (Universities collaboration)

Please, forget about ChromeOS. Cloud-based OS is a very bad idea. I was only stating how they have their update system in place, where it automatically updates when the user is using it and then once they shut it down it will do the updates when it starts back up. Instead of how Windows is where yo...

Re: Education & Research (Universities collaboration)

Aleksey, honestly most efforts so far have been lead by you and a few other individuals. We really should get ROS up and running on some netbooks and get them out there to schools that are willing to host us. We should do a tour to mimic the efforts the RasPi team did in the states last year. As I ...

Re: New Website

I actually like the new site, yeah it's different but it "flows" much better into the forums and makes ReactOS's logo pop rather then just be there. It'll take him before everything is perfect like they have said above, but I'm willing to wait since anything new is going to be a step in th...

Re: What's missing in React ?

Try just downloading and install VirtualBox since it's free, and then run it inside of there. That way you can test it yourself without having the issues of your partitions being edited and also the boot records being changed either. ReactOS is missing a lot of things that make it just "work li...

Re: I tested ReactOS on virtualbox

Yeah most of the things in the Application Manager are outdated or don't even install (since they don't link right to a .exe). Firefox 3.6 does install and it deos update to 13.x if I can recall right, but Opera doesn't update as the user above me said and it hangs on the 11.x installation screen. I...
