Re: ReactOS Mattermost!

As far as I understand, much of "browser compatibility" comes down to the underlying browser engine that it uses. The Wikipedia article on this ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browser_engine ) sees fit to mention 8 in total, only four of which are under active development. I agree that any tools the...

Re: ReactOS 0.4.11 Problems with installation on real hardware

See attached screenshot. ? if I plug in a USB stick, ReactOS freezes. USB support is still troublesome; this is to be expected. The live CD stops by loading the file: SWENUM.SYS This is a common error - check out the other forum posts which mention this: https://www.reactos.org/forum/search.php?key...

Re: How do I change the aspect ratio?

You may need to install the appropriate drivers to get different resolutions. I know in VirtualBox there are only a limited set of options until you install the Guest Additions software.

Re: Stuck in a loop

Identify your network card and find the appropriate driver for it that works in Windows XP. Then burn it to a CD to transfer over.

waste hours for nothing installing, learning, tinkering
ReactOS install is literally a few minutes.

As far as I can tell, Brave requires Win 7+ with no plans to support XP. I just tried the 32 bit installer and it failed to download the installation files, so no - it doesn't appear to work.

Re: Microkernel shim for ReactOS or Windows NT?

Kinda reminds me of: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longene a patch for the ROS kernel that hooks into the APIs of a microkernel such as seL4? One wouldn't necessarily have to change stuff like drivers, instead, ROS/NT could run on top of the microkernel, kernel-mode drivers and all. Running the whol...

Re: Dell Drivers not displaying correctly.

Are any of these drivers packaged in self-extracting executables? Sometimes there's a secondary installer (which may run better), and you get direct access to the INF files. I believe that the "Update driver" function in Device Manager is capable of installing a driver if you direct it to the right ...

Re: Are GPT disks and SSD drives supported?

since Linux supports it since a long time, and the code of Linux is open, why the is the same code not implemented (or ported) in ReactOS? Superglue and cement both stick things together, but you use one instead of the other depending on what you're trying to assemble. Knowing how cement works is g...

If we had upload filters now, this very post would classify as plagiarism and be censored.

I agree with you on most every point you've brought up. That said, bringing up the idea of some sort of 'NWO'/'shadow government'/Illuminati-type group is absolutely conspiracy theory territory. And this forum is not for discussing such things. Nor is it for discussing politics outside of the scope ...
