good choice with tugzip, its the best bad choice with jabber, miranda would be better (opensource, native support of many protocols, even Windows messaging protocol (very cool support), jabber protocol if you want to also available, but not bound to jabbers cross-protocol-limitations) edit: btw. i l...

slowing CPU is only a solution for DOS programs to run on the OS like SlowDown. it works different from that what I meant, because it USES the cpu heavily what i wanted is good to mention in an example there is a well known game called Ultima Online. The client from UO runs on any windows platform, ...

make a WRAPPER which wraps all media player functions around setting up the wrapper could be made in a control center, where you can define wrapped functions into "executed commands" AND/or "executed sysmessage" sending to apps or activeXs so ppl can define own media players easily. this wrapping sy...

please make ros scheduler better

additionally
what I always missed in windows was limiting a process with its maximum cpu usage, dunno if such thing is possible, but if yes, would be a point too

Re: Slow?

I don't consider a 10% slowdown running Quake2 compared to native Quake2 a big disadvantage. The advantages of .NET far outweigh its disadvantages for most applications. In 2006, I plan to integrate Mono into ReactOS as well as .NET is integrated into Windows. Casper 10% on which machine? of course...

AFAIK dotnet is semi interpreted (bytecode like java is) and locally compiled in some sort of way, however just because i dont really know, how it works, i have to use a lot of 'em what I saw was, dotnet is pretty small in exe size, pretty much is simply swept over to the API which has positive side...

I am still for dosemu Slow? I dont think so. maybe compile it again, I could use most of my old apps without problems, even a bit too fast. DOS "fastness" is not a factor. most of the pcs today are simply too fast in DOS to use dos based programs. I think dosemu is the BEST alternative, the FASTEST ...

1. install dosemu, install win311 on it and you have completely win311. 2. install qemu. install win311 on it. same effect. 3. if it runs under WINE, it may run under reactos anyway. some of the win32 api is based on win16. there are some very basic little applications, which are only using forms, b...

one more "filesystem" to use IMHO:
LINUX SWAP

using swap partitions in reactos would be cool. swap partitions are faster than swap files (tm)

NTFS Read Write in Linux is still in devel, after years of development, it is still a dangerous function, while Apple HFS+ has been implemented very fast. I think that has a source: NTFS is hard to implement. File Permissions are per-FS-base. You dont have to use the same permissions on all disks ju...
