Re: Reactos 0.3.8

Good to see you over here, tuqueque! I've been following ReactOS for a while, and something I've learned from watching this project (and other FOSS projects, mainly Blender) evolve, is that the developers will do what they 1) know how to do and 2) want to do. I don't mean that in any disrespect to t...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.7

So far, it has taken a decade plus to get to this point. If it is going to take another decade for ReactOS to stabilize, the efforts could be better spent getting more people to accept Linux which is stable now. Hmmm...Well, I suppose that is your opinion, and you are entitled to it. But it is rath...

Re: Can we expext a new release one of these days ?

Anyway, I hope this doesn't damage the ReactOS' team morale, or slow things down (much more). You guys are doing a fantastic job, and while I'm sure the incessant "When's the next release going to be???" may get annoying, remember that it's only because people are quite excited about the ...

Fund raiser updates?

I was wondering if there was a place that we could see how the funds that were raised have been put to use. I know we were given some examples about what it would be used for, but it would be good encouragement for the next fund raiser to see how it is currently helping the project. Thanks and keep ...

Kinda weird that nobody has done a design like this yet...It was one of the first things that came to my mind. Anyway, I whipped it up in Blender and the Gimp. Enjoy! http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n270/hunkadoodledoo/CG/rx01prospect.png http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n270/hunkadoodledoo/CG/...

Yeah, I can see how ROX is like ROS, but how is it a reference to ReactX if ReactX does not contain the letter "O"? Wouldn't it be faster and correcter [sic] to just use RX? It just seems incorrect and more of a hassle to include the superfluous "O".

I would like to contribute a design, but I would need clarification about the name. The newsletter said ReactX or ROX, but I don't see how ROX is short for ReactX. There isn't an "O" in "ReactX". I would have to know which direction to go. I suppose "RX" could be short ...

I don't have a need for an OLPC laptop, but the whole "customers to have to buy two laptops at once - with the second going to the developing world" policy is pretty neat. If I had a child that I wanted to introduce to computers, I would consider buying, and dual booting with ROS. I suppos...

Two unrelated questions about bounty system and forums

1. What is the progress on the ROS bounty system?

2. Is there no way to search the ROS forums?

Oh. I suppose that makes sense. It would be nice to see the ROS symbol next to the Windows and OSX logos. So, how exactly do we go about getting software companies to put it on their products?

Well, I am all for third party software ROS support, but pardon my ignorance in that I thought ROS is aiming for 100% compatibility with Windows software (i.e. no porting from Win to ROS). Am I wrong?
