Interview with Víctor Martínez
For those who are not native Spanish speakers, here a rough translation of an interview which was done by muylinux on May 5, 2014: Víctor Martínez: "The end of Windows XP opens an interesting door for Linux and ReactOS" We have presented ReactOS as "a Windows free clone created from s...

Re: A future for ROS?
To me the worst thing of Windows 7 - and Windows 8 may be eben worse - is that Windows 7 is trashing productivity. To make it "looking nicer" they abandoned functions which helped me as a software developer to be productive. For several often used functions the number of clicks to go has b...

Re: Why is it taking so long?
Sorry, I shouldn't have removed the three words "not yet released" before NT and putting three dots in there instead.Z98 wrote:NT is not a microkernel.
I didn't know that they changed their minds.
Thanks for correcting.

Re: A future for ROS?
Maybe Microsoft will support ReactOS, just to survive! I found this on Wikipedia: Microsoft software is ... presented as a "safe" choice for IT managers purchasing software systems. In an internal memo for senior management Microsoft's head of C++ development, Aaron Contorer, stated: “ The...

Re: Why is it taking so long?
... maybe there are just OS'es enough already to fill all the needs, and the needs ROS would fill in, is already occupied by MS (certainly in regard to support) where price is of secundary importance to big companies. There is a great need for a working OS which is able to run XP programs, because ...

Re: internet browser in live cd
To me, the live cd is more a curiosity. Because you cannot save any file etc... . I am sure the Live CD is much better than you know! :!: I was able to copy files and programs from floppy disk to the hdd, and I could start these programs from both floppy disk and hdd. I could run Win32Forth that wa...

Re: internet browser in live cd
I opened the ReactOS Internet Explorer to get connected to the Internet. Nothing happened. Did you install Wine Gecko at the end of the 2nd stage setup? I used the Live CD. Boot CD Installation doesn't work on my old computer. I  I did not know that Wine Gecko is needed and I do not know wha...

Re: internet browser in live cd
I opened the ReactOS Internet Explorer to get connected to the Internet. Nothing happened. Since I have installed ReactOS on the HDD of this computer, I tried several Linux Live distributions to check if the Internet hardware is working. None of the Linux distributions which I checked found any Inte...

Re: LinkedIn company page (SUGGESTION)
It's simple as that: attracting contributors - working and financing. As I wrote before, searching for 'ReactOS' at LinkedIn shows 66 results, but ReactOS is not one of these. I searched for 'ReactOS' at LinkedIn when I read in another post that it would be great if Branson would support ReactOS. I ...

Re: LinkedIn company page (SUGGESTION)
There should be a LinkedIn page for ReactOS, because searching for ReactOS at LinkedIn gives 66 results for people connected to ReactOS, some are claiming they had been hired by Google to work for ReactOS in their past. Some of them have now or have had a job at Microsoft. Maintaining a LinkedIn pre...

Re: ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
Thanks, meanwhile I read that DOS is on top of NT, so I had to expect that DOS programs don't run.
It would be great if this error message tells which file is missing, and I recognize that this upgrade is on its way, and I will wait until this is done.
Thanks a lot for your great work!

Re: Why is it taking so long?
I found ReactOS when I was looking for an alternative to Windows XP. Since years I have been told to switch to Linux. Puppy Linux was fine, with a life USB I could look for solutions on the Web when a virus struck my Windows XP, but, believe it or not, I didn't find out how to save a file or copy a ...
