Re: 82865G graphics woes
I've thought about doing this. I think the 170L has a serial port since I saw a setting in the BIOS which suggests it being on the board, though my main PC sure doesn't have one...

Re: 82865G graphics woes
Ah, sorry. I should have been more clear: I originally tried some recent trunk builds and the graphics driver didn't work right, so I did some searches online and came across a topic from 2011 in where somebody seemingly had it working fine. I tried the 0.3.14 LiveCD just now and integrated the grap...

82865G graphics woes
At the moment I'm trying to get my OptiPlex 170L to work with ROS. At the moment, it installs and boots fine, along with the network driver (it installs just fine and works beautifully), but the graphics (and sound) are what I'm aiming to get working. From what I found via a few searches on Google, ...

Re: Pale Moon in ReactOS?
I, too, would love to see Pale Moon be working in ReactOS. I used Pale Moon before, and it is very fast, and overall is a joy to use. Better than Firefox, that's for sure.

Mainly to show the power of ReactOS (or open source in general).

Re: PlayStation 2 port: Is it possible?
Ok. I guess a PS2 port is out of the question. Then, would the Xbox version still be able to be done? I just want to see ReactOS on a game console, more than anything.

PlayStation 2 port: Is it possible?
I was wondering; Would it be possible to port ReactOS over to the PlayStation 2? I know that ReactOS needs at LEAST 64 MB of ram to run, and the PS2 only has 32 MB. Would it be possible to optimize it, remove the applications, and port it to this platform?

Re: The Sims 2 - ReactOS?
UPDATE: Got the game to start! Had to edit the source code of ReactOS a bit (change the vertex shader constant from 256 to 1024) and it starts now. However, there are TONS of issues that render it pretty much unplayable. Screenshots of the Sims 2 - Create-A-Sim demo: http://i59.tinypic.com/2n575t.jp...

Re: The Sims 2 - ReactOS?
I know that in Linux, the game won't run (gives the same error message) because the game needs 1024 shaders to run, and Wine only has 256. I know that in Wine, you can get around this by editing the source and changing the number of shaders to 1024, and then compiling it. The issue here is that if y...

Re: The Sims 2 - ReactOS?
Sorry to bump this thread back to the top, but I read on a site that somebody tried running Sims 2 on 0.3.4's SVN, and it worked flawlessly. I can imagine it runs even better now, but I can't verify this myself. Could somebody with a real machine try the game on it? Here is a link to the site I look...

Re: The Sims 2 - ReactOS?
I tried it again, and it says, "Failed to initialize Direct3D" or something like that. I really wish this game would work on it.

Re: The Sims 2 - ReactOS?
Well, I got the opportunity today still. So far it seems that neither Sims 1 nor Sims 2 run, the former has some problem with installation, the latter with VirtualBox Guest Additions. Darn, that's too bad. I will see if I can get ReactOS to install on physical hardware, and I'll go from there. It's...

Re: The Sims 2 - ReactOS?
If you could, test out the Sims 2. That's the only one i'm really concerned about. But yeah, whenever you get the time, just go ahead. Thanks!
