Re: Will ReactOS eventually support 16-bit Windows apps?

ReactOS has a process called NTVDM, which allows ReactOS to run 16-bit apps and games. I don't know how completed it is, but I know quite of bit of 16-bit games were running with it. No one is really focused on it right now, as everyone seems to be more focused on fixing MM/CC, 64-bit support, USB/P...

Re: Is it okay, if I upload a pre-configured ReactOS Virtual Machine to archive.org?

I don't see why not.

Ultimately, it might be better for them to integrate Narabot into their GitHub respo so it can just be done automatically, but for now I say go for it.

If it helps, I am currently trying to get ReactOS on HelloTux. I am just waiting for responses and drafts from the developers.

Re: Google Summer of Code 2019 Ideas

I am pleased to announce that ReactOS, Freetype, and Wine have all gotten accepted into GSOC this year.

What is wrong with https://shop.spreadshirt.de/reactos/ ?
I think their intention is to link their shirts through your shop so that way they can buy them their, too.

Re: ReactOS on HelloTux?

From the developers: "Hi Alex, Yes, why not!? ReactOS is free software too, so I'm in. Currently, we can make t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies for you. No cost on you, and we can donate part of the price to the project. What do you think? Is it possible to add us somehow to the Shop se...

Re: ReactOS on HelloTux?

I can contact HelloTux and see if we can get ReactOS a part of HelloTux, if it is alright with the ReactOS developers.

ReactOS on HelloTux?

I was wondering if anyone thought about trying to get ReactOS on HelloTux. Recently, The Binary Times podcast got on HelloTux and it made me think if ReactOS could try to get on it, too. They are pretty Linux specific, but the developers are pretty nice and I feel like they would be flexible with Re...

Re: Google Summer of Code 2019 Ideas

What about multi-processing support? XP sp3, as far as I know, supported up to 2 cores. This might be a good start for a gsoc and have a more mature developer finish it later to support more then 2. Supporting 2 cores is exactly the same amount of work as supporting 32. Or actually, it may be more ...

Re: Google Summer of Code 2019 Ideas

I think the kernel test suites and the win32k test suites should be priority. I feel like it is small enough for gsoc students and it will have many future benefits, especially with reducing BSODs. What about multi-processing support? XP sp3, as far as I know, supported up to 2 cores. This might be ...

Re: ReactOS: the true Windows OS?

A 73 page article? LOL, obviously this person has way too much free time. Let's see what MS has done for the world: - Created ten of thousands (possibly hundreds of thousands?) of jobs in various different careers all over the world. - Is one of the top 5 contributors of Linux and created lots of de...

Re: What is the ultimate goal of react os?

I have absolutely nothing against Linux/Posix/Unix/etc, but I cannot stand the Linux communities and users. This thread is an example of why I stay away from Linux forums, sites, or anything that has to do with Linux. Look at how the Linux fanboys come here and start pushing Linux like it's a whole ...

Re: 64bit ReactOS Availability (Latest Firefox + Wine 64)

https://github.com/reactos/reactos/pull/361 About as far as 64-bit support has gone. It looks like Timo has put it on hold, though, but he has done some miscellaneous 64-bit fixing here and there lately. It is probably going to be a while before we see any 64-bit builds, though, even if that PR gets...

Re: WINE hoax

I don't see why Wine can't already be built for Windows, at least on the user side. It is mostly a matter of recompiling those. But there seems to be little demand for that. Even if this is a hoax, this points out conceivable possibilities for Wine. A number of reasons: 1. It made little sense to m...

Re: reactos.org is updated

Loving this new change. The forums looks a little more modern now, I can browse other parts of ReactOS without having to login every time, and the forums is super fast now. Haven't really noticed anything different with the wiki, but nonetheless, it is always good to keep things updated to avoid sec...
