Re: How is the Start button created on the taskbar (or How do I add a button to the taskbar) ?
If I'm not mistaken, the chunk of code responsible for initializing/displaying the Start button is the CStartButton class on traywnd.cpp file (from 138 to 259 line). The class begins by setting up the correct size for the button, applying bold font to the text, enabling the theme procedure (so that ...

Re: steps for a pull request
The GitHub web page automatically loads the Pull Request template from there . It's not compulsory to fill the JIRA Issue in the description if you do not have any JIRA tickets related with your PR in question. To set up your name and E-mail globally for whatever commit you create in the future, app...

Re: How do I build a VSSolution for ReactOS?
The problem is now fixed. I had to re-install VS 2017 again with all the VC++ packages and libraries.

Re: How do I build a VSSolution for ReactOS?
You did not get my point. I want to build a VS Solution for On-Screen Keyboard and that requires VS Developer command prompt.binarymaster wrote:To use GCC compiler you should not use VS command prompt, but just default RosBE command prompt.

How do I build a VSSolution for ReactOS?
I'm trying to build a VSSolution for ReactOS, specifically for On-Screen Keyboard so that I can build a solution for this program and acquire debugging capabilities. I do both have RosBE 2.1.6 and Visual Studio (mine's Community 2017) in order to proceed with the steps. To begin with, I added the PR...

OSK - Submenu doesn't popup & dialog doesn't close
Hi, I decided to begin the implementation of a menu for On-Screen Keyboard. The resources and the code are ready now but I am into a problem. The On-Screen Keyboard dialog doesn't close anymore when you press "X" and the submenu doesn't display despite clicking on "File" main menu. Could someone exp...

Clicking on "OK" button won't do anything
Hello, I noticed our On-Screen Keyboard application doesn't have a warning dialog box on startup which it can be seen on Magnify. In Windows XP, both Magnify and On-Screen Keyboard have this dialog box which is displayed upon the startup of the application. The box serves as a purpose to inform the ...

Re: In the event Microsoft decides to open source Windows
Two plausible reasons I could think of: 1. Open-sourcing Windows would result to the possibility for competitors creating operating systems based on Windows' code which could greatly reduce the Windows market share, a big loss for Microsoft. 2. Most likely a portion of Windows code comes from other ...

Re: Turkish Forum Please.
Because there are enough of language specific subforums which went stale in terms of activity. For a new language subforum to be created, you'd need enough of Turkish members that are interested on keeping the discussion on the subforum. As per the Ziliang's post (from Opening a new Hebrew sub-forum...

Re: Aspects of Vista/7/8/10 that should NOT be ported to React
Modals and regular dialogs are hard to distinguish on Windows. In reality they're not. In Windows, a modal dialog is a handle to a window which the user is forced to do a certain operation (interacting with it) to that dialog box before the user can switch between the owner dialog (which is a handl...

That said, I'm certain that several members of the community here would be more than willing to lend a hand if needed. We all want a pleasant forum experience where people can discuss ReactOS rather than wading through dozens of garbage posts. If a moderator(s) selection has to be in place, I think...
