An Installation Guide for Real Hardware
Hello all, I thought you would all enjoy a guide on how I get ReactOS to install on my Dell Dimension 3000 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pxW9HELBkbEODBUtW-ILFMZgur_Q6lnJtKO-XDxGAtg/edit I plan on editing it with major releases, ie 0.5.0, and probally bigger small builds, like how 0.4.6/0.4.7 w...

Re: How is this for an Idea?
I wanted to clear a few things up. No I didn't want an emulator, emulation is the easy way out, I was talking about a "Compatibility mode" for Android apps. I acknowledged it isn't something needed, I have 7 Android phones at home, but I was just asking "Wouldn't it be cool if" o...

Boot camp and ReactOS
Ok this is a long shot, but maybe it has been done before. I have a MacBook Air, using Windows Via the MacOS application "Boot camp" Since this is a 2015 MacBook, I can only install Windows 10, would it be possible to buy an older Mac, with an Intel processor, and use the older version of ...

Re: Chromium browser blocks download of 0.48 live CD
As of June 29th the issue isn't resolved, I've used both Chromium on Lubuntu 18.04 and Chrome on Windows 10, if I had to guess I'd say it's all the EXEs the live disc holds, one of the files must have something Google's servers don't like...HAL2012 wrote:Thanks for the info learn_more.

Re: GreenteaOS ReactOS fork: any thougts about that project?
The description of the ReactOS Project at the GreenteaOS git appears harsh. The harsh words are probably unintended. I blame the poor quality of the translated text. The GreenteaOS goals seem ambitious. Let's watch and wait. Linus Torvalds once said, "Talk is cheap. Show me the code." I h...

Re: Yet Another ReactOS Wallpaper Thread.
Hey guys, first post here, decided to try my hand at making a Windows 7 inspired(Inspired as in, not a direct rip-off but pretty damn close) wallpaper for ReactOS. In the interest of being as futureproof as possible, I originally made it in 4k resolution, and I've also got a 1080p version. If you w...

Re: My future goal of using ReactOS
What are you planning on doing with this rig. I currently have an old Dell Dimension 3000, I use as my ROS rig, and i must say, I don't see ROS supporting new hardware anytime soon. There is very little need to use ROS as a day to day machine, and I'm very intrigued to see your reasoning.

How is this for an Idea?
Ok so this idea is very far from being a reality but.... What if ROS could run Android Apps? In concept its not to hard to imagine, create a subsystem based on AOSP, download an APK, select compatibility mode, Android Nougat, presto, a Windows like OS running Android Apps. I'm not saying it would ea...

Re: ReactOS 64 Bit Questions
Let's see how trivial it is to make a working ReactOS 64-bit : https://github.com/reactos/reactos/pull/361 ... Not so trivial, afterwards! I never expected it to "Trivial," I've looked at the code, there is nothing "Trivial" about it. All I meant is in the very far future, when ...

Re: ReactOS 64 Bit Questions
You know that you 2nd suggestion already exists, do you? 64 bits still needs work to boot completely, but as you might know it's far from just recompile and you have working 64 bits. Timo Kreuzer is working on it and showed nice progress pics recently. What do you mean by my second suggestion alrea...

ReactOS 64 Bit Questions
I am well aware that ROS is still alpha level software, but aren't they trying to tip toe into the NT4+ (Vista +) range? What issues will arise due to ROS going from 32 to 64 bit? Also wouldn't it be best for ROS to feature a toggle to say hey for Google Chrome, lets identify ROS as Windows 7. I kno...
