Re: ReactOs 0.3.12 on Virtuabox = CPU Stuck at 100% all the
I tried running the released VMDK in Virtualbox on Win 7 x64 and also got very, very poor performance. The mouse was like jumpy and slow to update. Unusable. I'd also recommend a .VDI as I have had more success with that format in the past. I'll try to do a clean install in VB from the release CD. C...

I don't know.... blaming Linux doesn't seem like it would help in any way.

Re: PDF READER: SumatraPDF
Haos: Give it 10 years. We'll just have to see. ;) MasterAldo: Great list!!! That's almost exactly the list I use! I'd add zsnes or mupenplus to that list, for recreation. Also I like the portable versions of most of those apps, so you can keep a nice clean registry. :) rhY PS I don't "hate&quo...

Re: PDF READER: SumatraPDF
I was not suggesting that closed source development was slower. I was suggesting that inevitably over time it will lose out to an open source derivative. I think if you fast forward a decade open source will be even more strong than it is today, and two decades out, I don't see much closed source so...

Re: PDF READER: SumatraPDF
AFAIK Foxit is not open source. This means it can't be bundled with the OS for free, and it also means that eventually it will be outstripped by the rapid development of the open source model.
Give it a decade... Foxit what?

Re: ReactOS 0.3.7
Yes, I used mibbit yesterday to get online and chat. The interface is very inconvenient compared to pidgin though... :o I still do not really know how to test the dbg version and find what the problems are with virtualbox (serial port pipe, file, ... very complicated stuff, actually). I read the wik...

Can I actually buy that thing somewhere for any where near $100? That just looks like a promotional flier.

Re: A Reactos Distro - Working software collection
As soon as ReactOS runs a little better, I will be distributing a .VDI of it with every Ubuntu install I do. It will probably have all the apps over at portableapps.com. I will likely post torrents of it as well, and this distro will be widely available, at least as a .VDI. :) I'm sure many people w...

Re: PDF READER: SumatraPDF
This is one of MANY apps I highly recommend using from portableapps.com. Switching people from Acrobat to Sumatra has made me the toast of the IT world here where I live, as silly as that sounds. I also love the GIMP, Open Office, Pidgin, VLC, Audacity, Virtualdub, and of course Firefox, all of whic...

Re: ReactOS 0.3.7
Just to fully railroad this topic off-topic, I'd like to state that I'd love to be on IRC more often, but with the freenode TOR ban, those of us who live in police states where only one ISP rules a monopoly and are FORCED to use TOR may not be able to log on. I know there's a work around, but it's c...

Re: "Download!" list
I recommend all the apps over at portableapps.com. With those apps you can have a fully functional desktop full of great FOSS apps, and that don't mess with the registry/etc. and have all dependencies. Of course, it is possible not all of the apps work on ROS at this time. I will attempt to do some ...

What new programs work in the .3.6 that did NOT work in .3.5? Can we get new .3.6 screenshots?
