Re: ReactOS UI Steampunk Concept

there is now a valid upgrade path for VB6 for the first time in 20 years, that upgrade being TwinBasic which is language compatible and 64bit! That's great. I'm not a VB coder but I always thought that both VB6 and VB.NET are worthwhile languages and that it is a pitty they aren't officially suppor...

Re: Reactos auf Real Hardware meine Erfahrungen

Das scheint mir eine gute Idee zu sein. Statt Meckern etwas Positives.

Der Trick mit dem Anwendungsmanager ist schon sehr speziell.

Re: How to configure Reactos VirtualBox VM to be able to surf on Internet by p.e Firefox?

You might try Aqemu, which is a nice GUI frontend for Qemu. With it you don't have to care about the complicated commandline options of Qemu.

And you can't surf the internet with the file explorer. Maybe you meant Internet Explorer?

ROS fork

@EmuandCo mentioned here a ROS fork [in German]: https://reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21175 I like that, especially UEFI, but the other things, too. If any of the ReactOS devs feels upset, don't forget that all code improvements can be "forked back". May I ask which fork it is...

Re: ROS and Win 10,11,...

I mean get rid of them completely, not just have a code that never gets executed.
I agree on most of what you say. But I don't know how to implement this one. How would that be doable without a fork and ripping out source code?

Re: ReactOS is being needlessly inefficient by using clean-room when it's not legally required

I actually rather see a different challenge: ReactOS‘ development is so slow (objectively - not implying fault), it can‘t catch up to MS', EVER. So… "what is this, where is this going?" — The original goal of a sort of Linux equivalent, yet for Windows and not for Unix, I believe we all a...

Ich habe mal im Bugtracker von ReactOS (Jira) nach dem Stichwort "Floppy" gesucht. Es gibt wohl in der Tat einige Bugs dazu.

Also I was thinking if there is some optional telemetry that you would know what versions are used ?
Oh my god, I seriously hope that they don't do that!

Maybe try this:

It's for programmers, but you can get useful info there, too.

Re: Stage alpha or beta

I got lots of links for the TV series "The Flash" ending. And I learned that it was Adobe.

This page from Adobe lets you assume that it was security reasons, not Apple.

Re: Stage alpha or beta

But it would have collected 45,000 dollar. That's not bad. Maybe retry with a smaller sum than 111,000?

(Edit: The amounts I wrote above are slightly wrong because they appeared in Euro for me instead of Dollar. But the principle remains the same.)

Re: Stage alpha or beta

But if it only didn't work in Safari (because Apple didn't like it) but worked on the Non-Apple web, why did the Flash creator (Macromedia?) pull the plug and did withdraw it? Edit: What about a Kickstarter campaign to speed up ReactOS development? I mean if everybody who wrote here that ROS dev is ...
