Re: Boot Android x86 through Freeloader

In this case it's impossible to boot Android with Freeldr. (My opinion, open for other ideas)
Android is far away from being a Linux these days. At least in some parts, like here.

Re: Boot Android x86 through Freeloader

Try:
Kernel=/android-4.0-r1/kernel
Initrd=/android-4.0-r1/initrd.img

Maybe it works, maybe not. If not you have both inside the ramdisk.img which needs to be extracted. Running Grub from Freeloader is possible but I don't know how.

Re: Boot Android x86 through Freeloader

No clue if that helps, but: http://newandroidbook.com/tools/imgtool.html This could be your way to get vmlinuz off from ramdisk.img

Wiki should be open to edit. But I recommend to hop ontop Mattermost chat and get in touch with the testers first

Yeah there are some problems with dying registry hives and Firefox after v49 I think is no good idea too. Nice that it's working though and have fun tinkering with it ^^

Re: Wayland gives ReactOS new life?

I know. I forgot to make that more clear. I wanted to shut this discussion down with my reply ^^ Still being insufferable I see. This is an OT thread... you shouldn't be just going around "shutting it down" good grief man give it a rest. Anyway most of the OPs original points about wayland are wron...

Re: New Windows-like Kali Linux theme

Office and Xbox Logo are trademarks and thus the usage is NOT legal. Maybe in the lil spot they live, but not over here.

Re: SAMBA, Cygwin, and appcompat

There already were some efforts porting Samba. Check rapps and you will find a minimal port to get Office 2010 do work rather ok. Maybe that can help your on your journey. It was only made to provide some encryption algorithms needed, but it was a start

Re: ReactOS built in C# (crazy idea)

Well, it will not run as we don't ship any .net by default. You can install it from RAPPS though.

Re: REACTOSE - Proposal for annual ReactOS conference

Like our Hackfest but more public you mean? Well, a conference means we have many things to show. As we all know the development speed is not on a level to do a conference entertaining ppl a few days full of news and interesting topics. For now we are on linux conferences/expositions like CLT and FO...

Very important is that you create a V1 Hyper-V VM, otherwise you are forced to UEFI which is not fully working yet.

Re: authentication

User authentication works the same way it does in Windows because this is a Windows architecture we talk about. Right now this is still incomplete though. So no LDAP/AD support as far as I know. If you can tinker with openldap to get some authentication support for external ldap supportive things......
