The commercal DOS tool is nice, but I want a libre Windows/Linux tool :-)

So, does ROS use a native redistry format indeed? If yes, which one is it - NT, 2k, XP?

And where do I look for the driver in the source tree?

Thanks.

If you ask me, Windows File Protection a gross hack that serves two purposes: 1. Let legacy applications frome the times of `95 and `98 install & work properly. 2. Make the system somewhat more robust when running with admin rights (when every program and its dog can go wild in c:\windows\ as mu...

Direct manipulation of Windows registry files?

Seeing how ReactOS seems to have a read/write driver for Windows registry files (c:\windows\system32\config\*), I wonder if someone has already put together the wine redegit GUI and the registry driver backend? Is there work ongoing? Having a regedit-like program capable of working with registry fil...

How many viruses (!= vulnerabilities) work on ReactOS will be a great indicator of the OS's maturity and compatibility.

That is, the more, the better :D

CsrClientCallServer

The constants in include\csrss\csrss.h, are they/do they have to be compatible with WinNT/2k/XP?
If I want to implement, say, SetConsoleWindowInfo and SetConsoleScreenBufferSize, how do I find out what constants and structures to use?

If you want a stable, fast and free operating system today , it's the wrong place to look. ReactOS still has a long way to go before it's suitable for average users. 99,999% of Russian users get the most fresh Windows+Office+Photoshop on 1 CD for as much as 1,5 USD. Nope, you usually pay $3 - $4 for...
