will one day far surpass what wine can ever do. I would agree with you if you took out the "far" part. As it is right now, wine is farther than ReactOS, but ignoring the current state and only looking at the final product, there won't be that much of a gap. The only real difference will b...

Ok, now I see your point better. By recall, I thought you were talking about how they drop support for a product, not actually pulling it off the selves.
But adopting is more of where people go out and buy the OS alone, which I guess will happen soon.

 You're post made me "wow". Microsoft isn't going to recall XP anytime soon, they can't afford to. People aren't going to adopt Vista, not because of software and hardware issues, but because of DRM. When Microsoft does decides throw out XP, they'll probably have another OS or two o...

The simple fact is, the world is shifting over to Vista. There are some fundamental changes within it which will break certain programs. There will no doubt be stranglers, but eventually the only Windows version you can get on new machines will be Vista. And most of the developers are using their h...

Linux/Unix's where always classed as the most bloated OS's when running graphical. Can you explain your reasoning behind this statement? I'll admit I'm not familiar with Unix's ui, but linux can be run graphically on a pre-ancient processor with 32 mb system ram. Maybe by bloated your talking about...

Awesome. I think you should stick "eact" in the line connecting the R and the X, so that people will know to read ReactX.

Like this? http://gateshater.ga.ohost.de/ROS/ReactX/Biohazard6.png http://gateshater.ga.ohost.de/ROS/ReactX/Biohazard6.svg I think oiaohm meant to do it the other way around. But if he didn't I think you still try it out the other way, meaning keep the light yellow, and replace the dark yellow with...

I would still vote for this one http://www.dj50.ro/reactx.png It's nice and simple and sometimes less is more. Your right, that one looks pretty awesome, despite the fact that's it's less than the others. Maybe it's time to call a vote. Kind of off-topic, but: Compared to DirectX, what version is R...

We could be like DirectR.
Anyhow, I think the X's things or what look like pineapple slices should be a bit thinner.
And it looks great.

And there will not be any 'distributions' in the sense of Linux distros, thank god...At most, there might be 'versions' of ReactOS, such as ones bundled with Apache, or OpenLDAP, My/PostgreSQL, or whatever. But again, these will not be anything like Linux 'distros'. 'Versions' won't exactly do much...

I saw this and I HAVE to reply...
I agree that it should be called ReactX, but I think we should be able to abbreviate it to RX or ROX, because ROX rocks!

My pc sees my usb disc as a hard disc and can boot from it. It's funny that ROS doesn't support scsi at this stage because my hard discs are scsi.
I was running ROS through qemu and vmware and it looks pretty good, I was just wondering what it would look like running full speed.

Thank You

How can I make the live cd bootable from a flash drive?

I don't have much cd's but I want to try this out without installing it. I downloaded the live cd, mounted it and copied the files into my flash drive and tried booting from it, but that didn't work.
I'm using SuSE linux 10.1.
Can anyone help?
