Re: Blog: NTFS Write Support GSoC - Week 1 Update

Thanks for the update, Trevor! I'm glad that also you yourself can see the value of your contributions, and got rid of the impostor syndrome :-)

Re: Blue screen on ReactOS-0.4.1-REL-live

Hi, thanks for taking the bt!
Can you please check that the same situation repeats with latest nightly and if it does, take a bt from the nightly in the same way you did, and log an issue into JIRA?

Re: Blog: Google SoC lwIP Report Week 1

More of these, please, they are appreciated by the community! :-) Especially if some people don't understand some of the commit messages or there are no commits yet. I understand that writing a blog post takes time which could instead be used to do more development, and I'll happily read status upda...

Re: i586 kernel support for Pentium MMX and AMD K6-2 process

Yeah, it seems your question was misunderstood by the guys. I think that CMOV-supporting CPUs will be the minimum also for the future, but we need a developer to confirm. If you need a quicker answer, I recommend visiting IRC, that's where the developers are. Only a part of them come to the forums.

Re: MS now FORCING Win10 upgrades

Fortunately, GWX Control Panel takes care of this issue quite reliably and user-friendly. I got pretty annoyed by the persistent notification alone and this little utility has saved me a lot of headaches.

I think that the special version of Pale Moon was meant as using NT5 API instead of NT6.

Re: Continuum - is it needed? Intel pulling the plug.

OK, I googled a little and found out that Core M is not a nice word for Atom, but indeed Core architecture (I know, duh). So there's no need for Atom even in (sub-)notebook world. As for RT, Windows RT is dead. It was on Surface 1 and Surface 2, then Microsoft gave up. Those Surfaces can be bought v...

Re: Continuum - is it needed? Intel pulling the plug.

Some interesting information regarding Intel processors - Intel has just stopped any future development of their mobile processors after spending $10,000 million (US billion) on development, meaning that in the future all those Atom powered little notebooks will have to be powered by conventional p...

Re: Cant change password nor access JIRA

It concerns me that somebody had to give me a url to http://www.reactos.org/user so I could change my password. I couldn't find a link to anything like that. It's quite straightforward - go to reactos.org and click the blue figure in top right corner. This will bring you to the bottom of the site w...

Re: Cant change password nor access JIRA

It's a little different from other sites because ReactOS uses a single sign-on into multiple services. If you go to the main webpage and log on there https://reactos.org/user and then click on EDIT and change your password, you should be good to go. I might take some time for the "reactos.org websit...

Re: Boot Crash With KiSystemStartupBootStack

I think we can get the version from the iso name as well. If you downloaded a daily build, then it's part of the filename (e.g. bootcd-71199-dbg.7z = revision 71199), if you downloaded an official release (ReactOS-0.4.0-iso.zip), then it's most likely 0.4.0.

Fighting the spam

I noticed that the last few days there has been a notable increase in spam (or maybe the registrations were closed before and were opened a week ago?). Is there anything that can be done? This is no longer an academical or ideological question, when half of a forum page is only made of spam posts, t...
