Re: Blog: Google SoC lwIP Report Week 10

Pro Tip: Anyone unknown to the ReactOS project (ie. people with post count less than, say, 100) really should attempt to provide references etc when making claims that the project should move in an unexpected direction.

Re: 0.4.6 Testing

For my part, I was using the VBox default hardware (AC97 soundcard, etc) and whatever drivers came with ReactOS. It "just worked" with no extra effort on my part. EDIT - In case it's useful to anyone else, it seems the setup directions have changed, and I didn't realize that. https://reactos.org/wik...

Re: 0.4.6 Testing

I agree with Golby. I haven't been following ReactOS as closely this year as I used to, but I'm sure that sound & networking used to work in VBox. Now they don't work. Was that a hack before, or is this a regression now? (And I'm referring to every build I've tested in the last 3 months, not *just* ...

I cannot offer anything useful to this discussion, but please keep us informed with your progress. Also, your link to your codeproject article seems to be broken.

Re: Download page missing important information for Newbies

I agree that the download page is easily misunderstood in its current form. There really needs to be some kind of warning text, with perhaps a link or two to a relevant forum topic. But I have no idea what the "best" wording might be.

Re: 6600 Microsoft developer on Windows

I am also going to point out that this is another of theuserbl's posts where he draws attention to ReactOS' supposed inadequacies. We have no need of you stirring the pot theuserbl. I would gently suggest that you possibly post more favourably next time if you don't want to earn the epithet of a st...

Re: Option for remove account and nick anonymisation.

Please add option for remove account from forum and all topic remove. (or set random nick) Could anyone remove my account? Reactos is open source project. Forum should give freedom of choice. How come? It doesn't automatically follow from "Reactos is open source project" as far as I can see, so wha...

Re: Angelus' Wallpapers

... some of the links are to Dropbox, which I think, only keep the images online for one week! So I think that you are asking too much. Dropbox is personal online storage. The link is valid until the user pulls the content. I have a Dropbox account which has hosted certain images for a couple years...

Re: USB problems noted

It was definitely worked on and maybe even completed, but I didn't think it had been fully merged into trunk yet. I could be wrong about that, of course. (Please correct me if I am - I'd love to be wrong about the current status of USB!)

Re: [IDEA] Ethereum for fundraiser

Has anyone thought about maybe doing a Kickstarter fundraiser, too? I have seen some ridiculously projects on Kickstarter in the past that have made a few hundred dollars off it. I would assume something like ReactOS should be able to make a few thousand dollars at least. I suppose it will also nee...

Re: USB problems noted

It's strange that it works at all with USB 3.0 - that's still under active development. (See a recent GSoC news update for more info - https://www.reactos.org/blogs/gsoc-usbxhci-driver-development-work-status) But like middings said, it's highly incomplete and relying on USB for real hardware at thi...

Re: bootloader dual boot question

ReactOS does not have a problem with non-MS OEM IDs unlike Windows. Dual boot is safe as long as it is in its separate partition. Is it safe on a separate partition even if it's the same physical drive? I've been swapping HDD's on my real hardware at home (no real success to report yet), but I've b...

Good call, middings. I meant to do that originally, and apparently I forgot to. Fixed!
