You can also have a look at the missing features of ReactOS: https://reactos.org/wiki/Missing_ReactOS_Functionality .

Re: New developers integrating structure

Step 0 is to download ReactOS source and explore it by yourself; try to run ReactOS (you will definitively see what's missing and buggy in it); and try to compile it using the tools, as explained in the wiki. Then, you can look at an interesting "starter-project" in your list of bug reports: https:/...

Re: Help wanted! Python based ReactOS patcher/developer.

Let's make a list of what we want the AI to do... Suggestions? Phrase after phrase or letter after letter? One prerequisite is that the AI should know the C/C++ syntax: its basic keywords and how/when to use them, the rules of parenthesizing, the operators... It should better be described using Bac...

Cool. However, how can we expand the AI into drivers for example or rendering apis?
You don't, because the AI won't know what to do.
To make it write a correct driver for a given piece of hardware, one would have first to formalize the whole spec etc etc...

Fixing code defects using AI may be a simpler goal to start with.

Re: Help wanted! Python based ReactOS patcher/developer.

There are two things I'm thinking about an AI that can do such a job: - writing patches to fix *known* bugs; - writing patches for new features. I personally think that the second point is currently out of reach of any AI since a good part of "new features" involve creativity, which is similar to wh...

Because it has to be done in a NT-compatible way, not in a "linux"-way.

Re: Trying to get companies to support ReactOS

I think it is entirely caused by 'whatnot', I think everyone will agree that 'whatnot' is the worst to be feared. The devs are sure to comment on the whatnots that they have encountered. There should be separate blocking levels in JIRA - WHATNOT/Serious WHATNOT. I abandoned my VB6 project due to a ...

Seriously?! You put that kind of bullshit here?
You would better spend your time learning programming in C or doing something else instead of pasting that stuff.

Re: Anonymous contributions apply in ReactOS project?

If someone uses a non-obvious fake name, it means they're deceiving us and actively avoiding getting their identity checked. . Do you have a professional mechanism or something to check if a name is real? Or you cannot be sure if a name could be invented? By the way, I wonder if the Wine project ha...
