Re: 0.3.14 installation on HP Pavilion ZT3000

I initially created the partition with a Linux bootable version of gparted. Formatted it to FAT32. Then installed Reactos and went through all the defaults letting it partition/format, just by hitting 'return' to everything. The format was over within 5 seconds and then it tried to create the folder...

Re: 0.3.14 installation on HP Pavilion ZT3000

I had previously installed Reactos 0.3.12 and 0.3.13 on this laptop and had managed to get a lot further down the line. It is only 0.3.14 that stops at this point.

I have performed a low level disc check and the drive is good.

Re: 0.3.14 installation on HP Pavilion ZT3000

Just won't work for me. Formatted the 60gb disc as fat32. When it comes to creating the \reactos folder in the first partition it fails immediately. In fact it will fail on any partititon I choose to create. The disc is a HITACHI Travelstar 60GB ATA-6 (IC25N060) The machine currently has no other o/...

Re: 0.3.14 installation on HP Pavilion ZT3000

All the defaults, first partition. I am just about to reformat the drive using another tool and then I will try again.

0.3.14 installation on HP Pavilion ZT3000

0.3.14 Live CD boots beautifully and quick too. The 0.3.14 installation CD boots and gets to the point where it formats the drive to FAT (seems uncommonly quick to do it though) but when it comes to creating the \reactos installation folder it fails every time. "Cannot create folder". Have to abando...

Re: blue screen on boot HP pavilion

Since the successful boot it will always boot into ROSDBG mode, it also now boots into standard debug mode.

Now, only 'normal' mode generates the BSOD.

The Debug modes are quick to boot and fast to operate. I can't see much difference in operation between the debug and normal modes.

Re: blue screen on boot HP pavilion

Using Rosdbg was able to boot as long as I did not use the touchpad, was able to then go throught the first time config. options. Rebooted when done. Subsequent normal boots all produce a BSOD, however a ROSDBG boor works successfully. It boots. Touchpad works.

Re: blue screen on boot HP pavilion

It may be touchpad related as the cursor freezes but a new setup page appears shortly after (which page is variable each boot). The one common factor appears to be cursor freezing, keyboard input has no effect

blue screen on boot HP pavilion

Hello, I'm all excited about 0.3.12 so I have just built a bootable CD and trying to apply it to the HP Pavilion laptop I previously used successfully(!) for 0.3.11. Unfortunately, I get a blue screen on boot: ntoskrnl.exe add 808eeb2e base at 80800000 datestamp 4cb4bc60 It is an HP Pavilion zt3200 ...

Re: Mock Up Of ReactOS StartPanel Start menu

Tha ability to style is nice but largely irrelevant, what we need is for it work fast. XP and the default theme was "Windows for Teletubbies", and it slowed things down... The windows 'classic' theme is all that is required as a basis and then the ability to skin is an 'extra'. Those are my thoughts...

Re: Acer 7720G

Thanks for the response, I swapped the atapi.sys and uniata.sys in the .iso file and burnt a CD to boot from. All went well and looked good but just after AFD.SYS I still get the blank screen. Then nothing. That was on a Dell D800 laptop. Trying on the other machines... I am so desperate for a win c...
