I disagree.
Two pages about a perfectly valid icon, there are more replies than vertical pixels.

Re: Poll: My Documents Icon

This is a perfect example of bikeshedding. Let's concentrate on the loads of sub-par icons and small UX pitfalls, and once everything is decent we can think of little details for small cognitive metaphors.

Re: Poll: My Documents Icon

As someone who's used Linux occasionally for quite a while, the 'house' that's on the folder gives the idea of it being the user's 'home' folder (aka ~/) which it isn't, but the paper added to the outside in "New #1" looks wrong to me, and the papers added to the inside in "New #2" are sticking out...

Agree, it's one of the best icons we have. I wouldn't change a pixel of that one.

Account data from the forum is synced with JIRA and Drupal every x hours by using LDAP.
I tried to change my JIRA e-mail and gets constantly overwritten by my forum preferences.

In order to simplify your summary: I wouldn't need the list of contributors. But just my two cents...
Well, I appreciate being in the list, and is certainly an incentive, at least for me.

Re: EPIC WIN!

Let's keep this thread tidy, posting just screenshots of working software, otherwise the quality gets quickly diluted. Can you define working, and to what extent? Well, having some basic functionality working to a reasonable degree without many visual glitches or impediments. Progress reports shoul...

Re: This month in ReactOS (2015-10)

Neat! The project needed something like this badly so that everyone can stay updated at a glance.
Thanks for stepping up and doing a short and comprehensive monthly digest. This is great!

Re: Can ReactOS Cause Damage to Real Hardware?

It can corrupt your hard drive, erase your partitions and make you lose your data, and of course, overwrite the bootloader. That's mostly it. Just don't plug-in any hard drive with sensitive information while ReactOS is running, use a separate disk to test it and voilà; safe. Same goes for pendrives...

Re: What Intel CPUs Does ReactOS support?

I remember enabling SSE2 support in the mbedTLS back-end for schannel.dll So, in other words, SSE2 support has to be disabled in mbedTLS if ReactOS is going to support i586, as the meeting minutes indicate it should? If so, this is something that should be changed. Is it not possible for mbedTLS to...

Re: What Intel CPUs Does ReactOS support?

I remember enabling SSE2 support in the mbedTLS back-end for schannel.dll , so it you use native HTTPS (*) in something that does not support it the program will probably crash with an unknown opcode error. It gives a nice speedup for anybody else, though, and SSE2 is really old. I guess it can be r...

Not yet, on JIRA he says it crashes right after the splash screen. But one step at a time.

Re: Virtual Device Driver Framework

Well, I agree that for many intents and purposes drivers could be inter-operable, but with the hegemonic ruling of Windows on PC there has been just no competition to even suggest a standard. See NDIS drivers, for example, in Linux there's NDISwrapper for running your favorite wireless card off the ...

The name is great, following a long tradition in FOSS puns and subtle cheekiness. References: libcaca, git, glib and so on.
