Re: Citrix XenServer and reactOS

I just tried on XCP-NG 8 using the Server 2008 (32 bit) template and had no issues:

Re: SAMBA, Cygwin, and appcompat

It seems counter-productive to try and make Samba work via cygwin. The goal should be to have it work without cygwin and, ideally, without relying on any NT6+ API. Better yet, build it within ROSBE, the ReactOS Build Environment. The version of "Samba for ReactOS" available via RApps claims to be 1....

Apparently Linux's mascot was nearly a fox girl: https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1197227512075411456

Re: Mascot for ReactOS

I don't imagine that this character would ever become an 'official' mascot in any way. And because of that, I don't see any harm in allowing the members of the community to have fun with a cartoon personification of this project. Every major OS, web browser, and even websites and other software proj...

Re: Installing ReactOS on Core2Duo with HD 3450

When you write data to a disc and are able to add more later, it means you haven't finalized or closed the disc. There's some more information about the process here: https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001586.htm and also here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_File_System It sounds like this fe...

Re: REACTOSE - Proposal for annual ReactOS conference

In the future where there could be a weekend (or even just a day) full of presentations, this could be an interesting idea. But there's not that many people doing big things in/with ROS. You can't have a list of presentations like, "Hey, this works in ReactOS. This also works in ReactOS." What you n...

Re: Installing ReactOS on Core2Duo with HD 3450

I'd suggest starting by using a new CD-R, not RW. It seems there may be an issue with reading that data.

Re: Reactos 0.4.12 and Windows 10 Hyper-V

Unfortunately, the only way to find out what might be going on is to get a log file from the VM. In the instructions here: https://reactos.org/wiki/Hyper-V there's a mention of attaching a virtual serial port to a named pipe. Once you do this, you can follow the instructions here: https://reactos.or...

Re: ROS applications

THERE IS NOW! https://reactos.org/wiki/List_of_executables_in_ReactOS_by_default Also listed it here: Listed by directory: C:\Program Files: iexplore.exe - WINE Internet Explorer; I believe it's taken from WINE mostly unmodified. C:\ReactOS: explorer.exe - ReactOS Explorer, the Windows-like shell. f...

Re: Boot from USB Drive?

Compatible with Windows 2000 / 2003 / XP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 /Win10/Mac OS/Linux ( Warm Tips: The 8 multimedia shortcut keys only work with Windows system) It's not clear if there's a driver requirement or not, but it certainly *should* work with ROS. I just suggested trying a more basic keyboard...

What other features have modern USB keyboards that are so differents than PS/2 keyboards?
In this particular case, the keyboard OP mentions ("Havit Magic Eagle gaming keyboard") has RGB LEDs and "shortcut keys".

Re: Boot from USB Drive?

I've tried the recent Nightly's on a USB drive and it doesn't yet boot Is this on real hardware or a VM? is this feature still being worked on? Yes. When will that feature be implemented officially on the official .iso's? I can't say for certain. Also the USB Keyboard still freezes on the first sta...

Re: Failed to load RAM disk file bootcd.iso

Based on my reading of the wiki page, there is likely to be at least two other files there, depending on whether you are creating the USB from Windows or Linux. https://reactos.org/wiki/User:Illen/RAM_Boot But, the example they give of the freeldr.ini has this line: Options=/RDPATH=bootcd.iso So eit...
