Re: Community Changelog: 0.4.8 (Work-in-progress)

Just creating a 'discussion' topic in the forum linking to the wiki page seems like a decent option, duplication the information is just adding a maintenance burden. I am for this. I consider giving a easily noticeable link to Wiki page, leaving the topic for discussion. Just one click won't scare ...

Re: Community Changelog: 0.4.8 (Work-in-progress)

ANNOUNCEMENT: From 0.4.9 and onwards, I consider continuing this changelog entirely in Wiki, that also will bring better community contribution. However, I'll still open a topic for each changelog to discuss.

Your ideas?

Re: A question about Community Changelogs

-Brought in USB 1.0 and storage driver (not yet fully enabled). USB 1.1/2.0 and others are work-in-progress. I see you already put the "not yet fully enabled" in there to lower expectations -- but even that is an exaggeration. The new driver stack is completely inactive and its presence in git has ...

That's a massive success for ReactOS. Once accepted every five years, we're finishing GSoC with perfect results.

Re: Community Changelog: 0.4.8 (Work-in-progress)

I see the changelog has been moved to wiki: https://reactos.org/wiki/index.php?title=Community_Changelog-0.4.8 It wouldn't update here anymore? No, I still update here also. EDIT: Oh, I get it now. I added your entries here immediately. A little hint, please try not to use function names where poss...

Re: A question about Community Changelogs

Okay, so be it. I prefer to start here to avoid pollution. Here is the first draft: -Improvements in kernel, especially Common Cache and Memory Manager. This improves stability, reduces corruptions and makes progress for booting from ext2. -Many x64 fixes are made, x64 boot is still work in progress...

Re: When will we see new features

WHAT?! We are seeing every release! When I came here (Feb'14), ReactOS was a nightmare. It worked, but it was missing LOTS of things. Easily crash the system and there was a registry or file corruption, for example. Explorer was freezing constantly. Lots of drawing problems was present. No NTFS or N...

You're right. I can also do this myself and pick your votes. However, this doesn't seem as the right way. I want to see your comments first.
Anyway, if no comment appears, I'll have to do it.
