Re: New features ideas

You'll expect Aero feature when the ReactOS Team gets an enough number of developers to fulfill this task. For now, Aero is a low priority and the current concern is to reach full stability and compatibility with Windows software and drivers on ReactOS.

Re: Il Miglior Anti-virus?

Il miglior anti-virus e' la mente sana. Non scherzo. Per evitare situazioni come infezioni di malware sul tuo PC, questo dipende solamente da che tipo di software scarichi dall'Internet. Evita a tutti i costi web-siti oscuri e/o maliziosi, invece usa i siti piu' sicuri e piu' conosciuti al mondo. Pe...

Re: Improve Newbee testing help page experience

I think you should open a ticket on JIRA (make sure it is made on ReactOS Online Service and not Core!). Developers barely visit this forum and may not notice this post.

Re: Another guy trying to install ReactOS x64 on real hardware

The reason is on the build you used. The x64 port is not ready for use and it's under development. Try a x86 build instead.

Re: Research survey: Impact of Microsoft Acquisition of GitHub

What's the point of this survey when it only applies to projects like BSD and Linux? That disqualifies every open source project that's not Linux/BSD.

Re: Blank screen with bootcd and BSOD with livecd

If ReactOS crashes with a bugcheck prior to booting up whilst using the Live CD then we might have a chance to obtain some debugging information. Please read this guide carefully (the sentence will go you through a thread). According to the 0x00000069 STOP code this translates to IO1_INITIALIZATION_...

Re: Live installer?

i am sure a good portion of people would prefer using a graphical installer Boot CD alternative comes with two stages of setup installation. Text-mode setup and GUI setup. The text-mode setup (which is the 1st stage of the setup installation of ReactOS when you begin with the Installation Wizard) i...

Re: Does need ReactOS a NT7+ driver compat layer?

The OP probably meant NT 6.x (Vista+) release versions and not NT 7. Microsoft never published such a release like this. The difference between NT 5.x and the successor version releases, 6.x, mainly lies down to major PnP refurbishment (Plug n' Play module -- the main guy behind supporting and manag...

Re: My future goal of using ReactOS

I have planned to use ReactOS by 2023-2025, somewhat between these years when this OS starts to mature in terms of stability or probably even earlier. I have tested ReactOS on an old computer rig and it barely stays stable although bug-checks don't seem to happen frequently which is a good sign over...

Re: Reiser4 FS in React0S

The good old man says - easier said than done . We all want ReactOS to succeed on every side, let it be applications, file systems, drivers, and so forth. But judging the current development base and its resources our expectations are only dreams, period. When there is a developer with enough knowle...

Re: GitLab mirror

Could this fake repo be considered as an identity supplantation of ReactOS project? The thing is, the guy can't simply clone a repository of something and then build a mirror for it without the approval consent of the responsible of the said repository. This goes the same for ReactOS. If something ...

Re: Must ReactOS fear a Microsoft change to NTFS?

NTFS is now feature-complete. No changes has been made since Windows 2000 era, NTFS version 3. If I am not mistaken, no changes have been made since XP era (and not 2000) with the last version being v3.1 . @middings: If Microsoft decides to change the way NTFS operates that would definitely screw t...
