Ahh... The old WinME debate... Used to use that, too... GreatLord: Ros only crashes when Vista decides it would like to pretend that the battery is dead, even if the power cord is in  .

Yes, it is not super stable, but when it wants to, it has let me run Ros 0.3.3 RC for 4 days straight now... when it wants to. Eventually, it will all fall in, it's the light at the end of the tunnel, but ROS is the quick train that carries us onwards toward end  .

Your hardware is not 15+ years old... With a 1k modem... . Well, some cards work, some fail, some miserably.

It needs the first drive/partition Fat32/FAT and bootable, if you have NTFS, ReactOS will not like your drive. Of course, what you run in QEMU is emulated to be compatible, not all PC drivers will work anyway.

VGA works on my I386 Tandy display, that is (probably) so out on the edge, if it works, ROS should work on lots (I didn't say all) of displays.

When did we begin having a .vmdk instead of a .img in the QEMU -ros package? QEMU is not the fastest, so that may explain the "Safe Mode". You might try more memory, though?

I really should take a picture of the hills near my house... except for the trees, it really looks like the Windows XP default background.

You got the VMWare package, I believe. Download either the "QEMU with ReactOS bundled" package on the downloads page, or get QEMU, the ROS cd, and type in this command line: qemu -L . -m 64 -hda (whatever virtual hard drive image you have) -cdrom (path to ReactOS.iso)/reactos.iso -boot d -net user ....

Sorry, but ReactOS can't use any USB devices other than keyboard and mouse(sometimes), much less USB storage/other MP3 players.

If you could make a theme, that would be great. Unfortunately, ReactOS explorer is undergoing a complete rewrite, and our current explorer has no theme support. Once we can run our new explorer (ReactOS still has to gain some APIs to make it work), we will soon be able to use themes.

Something sounds strange, here. Would you mind posting up what command line you use to start QEMU?

GreatLordish is a very distinct language , and sometimes can take a few runs through a translator. ROS will have an MC?
