Wrong. "Install" implies it will immediately install all selected packages ala Windows Setup. Review & Install implies that you will be able to take a look at your install queue and change some settings before you install. You could also use "Checkout" but I really don't see...

First of all, as UI design is alot more than just placing the buttons there are much other things to play with, i.e. behaviourism, error handling. The "button placement" just is easier for people to grasp I think that's why all UI conversations always end up to discuss looks of the project...

Yep. Lot's of atom icons before ReactOS so if you consider that as a rip then you should consider ROS icon as a rip too.

Few observations: Personally, I would add separate Queue list so that the user doesn't have to reopen every tree (in case they have closed it because the tree got too big) just to see what applications they have selected. Also user should be able to remove applications from the queue straight from t...

-limitations of human perception (not just color blindness) Including, amongst other things; cell color sensivity, color blindness, focus/refocus, shape recognition and how do we process colors. -working memory vs. long term memory (Model Human Processor, Recognition) This has nothing to do with re...

Well, to mention few rules which also apply to icons:
-limitations of human perception (not just color blindness)
-working memory vs. long term memory (Model Human Processor, Recognition)
-cues in working memory (both, opposite and parallel)

Opinions might differ but such should not be decided by looks but by terms of UI design/usability. Like I mentioned earlier, UI design rules apply to icons also, i.e. in form of colour use.

I don't think that looks butt ugly... http://devnet.dnsalias.net/guidesign/modified_explorer.jpg That makes it lot easier to comprehend. Of course, in that case, the folder need some borders or contrast differences reworked on it, but still, already in this look, it is more "readable". I a...

Why the folders are grey? It makes the explorer look kinda dull, and besides, if you have drives on grey and folders on i.e. yellow, like in Windows, it makes the tree easier to comprehend.

Observation of the explorer itself: Why the lines between items? It makes the tree look so '80ish...

Ok. I had a brief discussion about this in IRC (with arty) and it seems that I should also code the UI in order it to become reality. As I hardly see no point for utter waste of time by designing UI that will never be used I'm still considering wheter or not I'll come around to do it. Although, like...

i don't know if its just me, but i think crappish seems to be really into making reactos user friendly, would it be to much to ask for crappish to bring up basic designs for the most common parts of reactos? developers don't have to accept any of it, but if one person can make the design of the scr...

Of course regular users shouldn't be able to lock the screen. Only logout and allow for a user switch. Where admins should be able to truly lock the screen and allow ONLY a login to the currently logged in user. Regular users should be able to lock the screen as some companies use the principle tha...
