Re: More ReactOS Community Edition News!

I don't think solidness or stability are precisely the things ReactOS is known for,
even if certainly some strides have been made in that direction lately.

The art is fine, though. I also appreciate Jared's work.

Re: Mouse speed!

This is bad. Because not only you'll need to allow people to set it properly - you'll also need to properly parse the sensitivity, pressure, angle and other stuff if you want ROS to be used by digital artists ( like me ) who work with Wacom and Genius digitizers. BTW, here's a Wine patch that adds ...

Re: Fix of the Week

And the UEFI boot support doesn't deserve one? :P Yeah. There has been more than a hundred commits on the revamped boot process alone, with the powerful touch of ion himself. The ungrateful task of plugging heaps (get it?) of memory leaks all across the board also scores high in my book. Thanks cwi...

Re: Shorten Start Menu Shortcuts

Many of you also forget that prefixing the entries with ReactOS makes them sortable when many applications pollute the menus. That way they stay grouped together. I suggested and sent that patch for a shortened RAPPS shortcut in the desktop because it made sense on that specific case; the huge label...

Re: (Poll) Change new Control Panel's "System" icon

I am not sure how it can be fixed. I mean, the D3D one just looks cluttered or ugly, IMHO. And what about the Users icon? From the screen caps, it looks a bit blurry, like it needs to be made crisper. Everything is blurry in those screenshots thanks to the JPEG compression artifacts. The real icons...

Re: (Poll) Change new Control Panel's "System" icon

Well, I made the new My computer icon last Christmas. Mainly to fix the broken appearance of the original one from Tango. As someone posted before me the perspective of its predecessor was skewed. So yeah, please rehash my idea (the source SVG files are on Jira for anyone to use and improve) and use...

As I posted in Jira, the second one matches better with the folders in the other Start menu icons.

It works fast and smoothly, but only with the software renderer.
With D3D renderer, it just makes black screen forever.

Re: Windows 10 is officially a spyware and an adware

I'll be frank, as a system developer, the idea that HTML/CSS is somehow appropriate for desktop applications always struck me as backward. All the stuff that HTML and CSS are just now getting, and only because people are abusing the crap out of javascript to pull it off, us programmers working on d...

Re: Need help with dwnl

Maybe the subject should be "how to download from sourceforge using dwnl"? Dwnl works with the same file that I put on my web page. It has to do with how Sourceforge works, agent sniffing. dwnl uses WinInet with its default values, user agent included. That means that the server thinks an...

Re: PlayStation 2 port: Is it possible?

Ok. I guess a PS2 port is out of the question. Then, would the Xbox version still be able to be done? I just want to see ReactOS on a game console, more than anything. The Xbox port worked back then, now is unmaintained. The drivers are there, but I don't know how advanced it was before stopping. I...

Re: PlayStation 2 port: Is it possible?

That'd be useless anyway, the PS2 doesn't not even uses x86/x64... Well, Windows RT works over ARM, and if Microsoft hasn't bothered to add a Intel backend for running existing x86 programs, adding that as a open source project seems even less feasible. I know of a project that attempted to do it b...

Re: PlayStation 2 port: Is it possible?

Also, every program you wanted to use would have to be recompiled unless you added a x86 interpreter/JIT backend shim PE loader. Limiting the amount of software you could run to open source stuff. Not to talk about having to write custom drivers for the extremely exotic and specific custom hardware ...
