Re: Thoughts on Pre-NT 6.0 Security and it's effect on React
Give me an example of when Kernel extensions were used in major software - as it is, other than what you claim is a security hole, you havent provided ANY evidence of what it even is, or how it is used appropriately.

0x5 to DoorsOS - that was a thing, kinda, and led way to this program...for graphing calculators.

But, leave ReactOS as ReactOS is. There are more important things to be doing.

Re: A reminder why ReactOS is so important
There is a way to get a Explorer, but with a timeout. Accesibility options on boot screen open you a Internet Explorer. Type C:\ as URL in there and you have your HDD. Just a emergency way to access files, but it works to an extent. Or use iexplorer to download an alternative to explorer (i had goo...

Re: EPIC WIN!
While using remote desktop to do something beyond monitering a remote client running software may be difficult (do mouse keys pass through?), often when I try helping others with problems on their pc ill just open some way to view their pc's desktop and instruct them on how to do it themselves. Help...

Re: ROS and XP dual boot makes ROS startup much slower.
You installed ROS and XP into the same partition? ~maybe~ ROS is stuck looking at XP files and takes that long to figure out it can ignore them? Have a debug log?

Re: VMware ESXi 5.5, doesn't load desktop
Only thing I suggest is changing it from the guest version "Windows XP" to "Windows 2003" (if you have that option). But I dont think that is the issue...

Re: More than 4gb RAM?
I beleive that reactOS is a 32-bit OS only; 32bit OSs cannot use more than ~4GB of ram, described a bit in this article, though a simpler answer could come from someone else in the community. Or just use some google-fu!

Possible ROS rig?
When I jave time and money, I want to get ReactOS running on real hardware for entertainment and testing purposes. Using pc parts picker, I put together a possible list of parts I want to use. Is there any known issues with the listed hardware? Unlisted hardware includes some unknown nvidia gt 620 v...

Re: Technical question about EXEs and DLLs
they used a unique way of building it... Sounds like they took the original's assets, and are ignoring the actual code of the game (which sounds like a lot of work) or are distributing their own interpretive emulator specific to that game (also sounds like a lot of work). Or maybe its something i d...

Re: One-Core-API
how would a "compatibility layer" be different from directly upgrading to NT6 right now? I liked how emuandco put it: ...was built for NT6+ and thus makes such fuzz. With some tinkering it might work but the result would be bad stuff for other apps because the resulting chimera OS would no...

Re: BSOD when downloading large files
Whatever caused your issues likely is being triggered by something else, just related to downloading large files (or maybe ReactOS being sent a lot of data too quickly?), but i was glad to find a way to prevent the bsod for now (hopefully). Also, found out from a freindly guy on cemetech.net why nat...

Re: ReactOS audit
The first link sais that microsoft contracted a third-party developer to make the tool, and merely didnt catch the gpl violation; I dunno the legal terms involved, but i would lay blame at the 3rd party developer for that case.
I didnt understand the second link too much about what happened.

Just wondering, around how much data is downloaded before ROS complains?
