It could work on other systems, in case they use the same or a similar linux distribution. What is yours? I'm using several Linux systems, mostly Debian, Ubuntu and openSUSE. But that doesn't really matter. The fact is that the libraries used in different distributions mostly aren't the same. This ...

Re: Precompiled RosBE

manatails007 wrote:Question:will it work on other systems?
99% not, this is why I offer no binaries of RosBE-Unix :-P

Almost every Unix system uses different libraries, so if you compile it on your system, it won't work on many others.

If there's anyone who still cannot use a PS/2 or AT keyboard, please try the special version of r32494, which I uploaded here: http://svn.reactos.org/special-builds/ Create a debug log with this version and attach it to bug 2790 . The debug log will contain extra information about the i8042prt drive...

I'm also against declaring anything as "abandonware" here, because there's no legal basis for this. For example in Germany, the copyright only expires 70 years after the decease of the author and this is obviously not the case here. Another example: Software like MS Visual Basic 6.0 is als...

RosBE-Unix 1.1 is now released in a final version!

It just incorporated minor changes to the Readme files, so if you have no problems with the BETA-Version, you don't need to update to the final.
Everyone else should use the final version now.

Ok, thanks for all your feedback!
Looks like RosBE-Unix 1.1 is stable enough for a release :D

The needed symbolic link for FreeBSD was already necessary for RosBE-Unix 0.3.6, but I never mentioned it anywhere.
I'll write that into the Readme files before the release.

I think it has something to do with a missing file (gengtype-yacc.h). I looked into the gcc makefile and usually bison should create this header file. Bison is also the application, which produced the double-free error you posted earlier. Can you please try to reinstall or update the "bison&qu...

Thanks for your replies! At least, I'm not the only one for whom RosBE works :D @peat Although I only tested it myself with Ubuntu 7.04 and not yet with 7.10, it should compile fine with this OS (see also the comment by Przyborowski). Did you already try to simply run the installation script again? ...

I uploaded a new BETA version of RosBE-Unix to http://reactos.colinfinck.de . To be on the safe side, I marked it as BETA :D. Please try it out and report bugs if you find some. Here is a list of changes: Updated the used compilers to exactly the same versions used in RosBE-Windows 1.1. Make sure th...

You can try using the "Standard MinGW Build Environment" instead of the default "ReactOS Build Environment" to compile 0.3.3. The build environments are always updated, because sometimes changes are needed to compile the current ReactOS source. I wrote down for every version sinc...

I have no objections against that.

The broken images are mostly fixed now and people make use of the InterWiki feature. Also some articles were corrected/rewritten to reflect the current state of development.

Then i have to edit the Live CD? If you download a Debug Live-CD ("livecd-xxxxx-dbg.7z"), it has debugging turned on by default. So you don't need to edit it. You only need to select "ReactOS (Debug)" in the boot menu if you installed ReactOS from a Debug Boot-CD. Best regards, ...

@Trivalik Yes, the system outputs text messages, when you debug through a serial null-modem cable. You can try that out by running ReactOS in a virtual machine and redirecting the serial port to a text file. QEMU also supports redirecting the output to the console (simply add the parameter "-se...
