Debug versions are tested much more often than release, so on that premise you could say debug are more reliable
Just use the debug version. That way if you have a issues you can turn debugging on and try to get some info back to the devs

Re: MSVC Compiler Support
Basically: - gcc is a unix based compiler. - reactos is an NT system. You've been told this and given many other reasons countless times. You don't seem to be able to grasp simple explanations. You are poisoned by your open source obsession. I'm locking this topic now to avoid going over the same th...

Re: MSVC Compiler Support
Nealry all open source projects for Windows use Visual Studio. nute, which internet browser do you use on Windows? If it's Firefox or Chrome you should stop using them immediately as they are both built with Visual Studio. Hey nute, I wonder if Google knows that Microsoft own all the code to Google ...

Re: MSVC Compiler Support
If supporting both compilers, why support MSVC at all? It belongs to Microsoft. If you are going to implement everything needed using GCC, there is no need for MSVC. Micorosoft doesn't provide anything for free, you can't fix the bugs in MSVC, so why in the heck would anyone in their right mind wan...

Re: MSVC Compiler Support
Nevertheless MSVC costs lot of money: http://store.microsoft.com/microsoft/Visual-Studio-2008-Standard-Edition-Full/product/283DE6A2?WT.mc_id=VSHowToBuy_std2008&WT.mc_id=vs_howtobuy_vs2008std I've stated twice already that MSVC is completely free. I can see people don't believe me so here is th...

Re: MSVC Compiler Support
Why am I replying to this???...... You obviously ignored the link I pointed to. It's 4 years old, move on. Why is the project even based on the GPL if the developers are generally anti open source? Fun! Also, I do not speak for all the developers Don't use proprietary tools that have a history of be...

Re: MSVC Compiler Support
nute, why do you insist on arguing about topics you know little about? Most of what you wrote in your previous 2 posts was wrong MSVC support is coming and it'll be a momentous day when it does. I can't wait to throw GCC away and move to a real windows development environment. GCC and its accociated...

As far as I know, there are no gays in the reactos team .... bad luck.linooxlee wrote:LUK project is short of hands. There are less than 10 people in LUK team. I hope Reactos's gays can help LUK.
Maybe you could get some of the lesbians in the linux kernel team to help you??

Re: questions about "make msvc9"
Ok, thanks. What I understand from the former posts is that 1. the ReactOS_auto.sln is useless, don't try opening it yep 2. I should open the projects one by one directly (I tried open ws2_32_vc9_auto.vcxproj with VS2008, but unfortunately vs2008 doesn't recognize it, and it works if i manually ren...

Re: Question to ARWINSS
Nope, it cant. We wont overwrite the existant subsystem. I thought this is clear already... No it is not clear. From the pdf http://www.reactos.org/media/docs/2010/arwinss.pdf it seems clear that Fireball intend to replace the existing system with arwinss. And I thought that other developers agreed...

Re: 99 man effort.
I think the importance of getting good and correct information into wikipedia is far more important than getting a 'good article' status. I've been using wikipedia since it's conception and I had no idea there was even such a thing. Anyway, you're the guy maintaining it so it's up to you what you th...

Re: 99 man effort.
I believe that the manner I have phrased the sentence clearly indicates that the information does not reflect current numbers at all, and that nute has not read the article properly I disagree, I don't think it's made compeltley obvious, and the fact that the real number of active devs is about 10 ...

Re: 99 man effort.
The drawback of using Ohloh is that they record all commits, so they also record people who have committed in the past, but no longer commit at present. This is why the ReactOS article reads as follows: "While the ReactOS entry in Ohloh records 99 contributorsr both past and present ..." ...

Re: 99 man effort.
I hear that ReactOS is approximately a 99 man effort with no current corporate backing. Compare this to the 25 teams averaging 40 developers per team that developed Windows 7. Current active reactos devs are about 5-10 part time. If you followed reactos like everyone else, then you would know this ...
