Re: ReactOS Edu distribution
Every school will have different needs. I'm not sure that it's possible to predict what software would be useful to schools, other than universally important software like office suites and browsers, and possibly programming languages. (Don't start about VB6.) It sounds like the issue is more that s...

Re: VirtualBox error
The consensus seems to be that 4.3.12 was the last version that worked properly.

Re: Improve Visual Basic 6.0 support in ReactOS
That being the case, I generally prefer that developers focus on the big picture -- the fixes that will give ReactOS the broadest compatibility -- rather than focus on specific applications whose fixes might not benefit any other software. VB6 support would be great, but would it be reason enough to...

Re: ReactOS + QEMU -> Emscripten/JS potential?
If it could be done, it would be slow as hell. There's a huge performance penalty when you emulate anything. Linux (until recently) can run on a 386, so tiny core Linux distros with tiny system requirements are possible. ReactOS has low system requirements, relatively speaking, but nothing like thos...

Dude, can you never let anything go? It's like if anyone in the world disagrees with you, you have a compulsive need to argue with them. You received a warning -- which the forum administrators have a right to issue -- so heed the warning and move on with your life. Or do you intend to argue until y...

Re: [SUGGESTION] DVD-Audio support
I've never actually seen a DVD-Audio disc. Or even a SACD for that matter. Do you have any DVD-A discs?

Re: About ReactOS 0.4
Indeed they are, but the CPU can't enter Virtual 8086 mode while in Long Mode. That doesn't stop Wine from running 16-bit software on 64-bit Linux.erkinalp wrote:Smaller registers are still available in x86_64.

Re: About ReactOS 0.4
As a person who runs a retro gaming website and uses a 64-bit version of Windows, 32-bit programs that have 16-bit installers are a constant headache. I would absolutely love it if ReactOS supported 16-bit installers, and retained that support in the eventual 64-bit version. That would be a big adva...

Re: 512 GB SD memory card and ReactOS?
Careful about that first one! Standard PATA uses 40 pins; laptops used 44 pin connectors that combined the power and data cables. That would be fine for adding an SD drive to a laptop, but it won't work on a desktop unless you buy an adapter.

Re: what do you think of Windows 10
But since not everything that worked on 95 works on 98 and vice versa, it also means if they cover 'both' with one check, they did not make any distinction between the two. So they didn't care what programs checked for '9' then. Both programs are pretty obsolete, and not many modern programs (MS ca...

Re: what do you think of Windows 10
In fact, if what you said above were true, they couldn't have released win 98, because they had already used win 95. It has a high likelihood of being bullocks, thus. It's because of the fact that there was both a Windows 95 and a Windows 98 that programmers searched for an OS string starting with ...

Re: what do you think of Windows 10
Apparently skipping 9 may be more than just a marketing gimmick. Several sites have picked up on the story that, because some programs may search for an OS name starting with "Windows 9" to determine if you're using Windows 95 or 98, Windows 9 could have been detected as Windows 9x and eit...

Re: 512 GB SD memory card and ReactOS?
ROS will install on a much smaller drive than that! The question of whether or not you can boot from ReactOS on an SD card depends on how the SD card is connecting to your computer. Most SD cards connect via USB, which is a problem at the moment. CompactFlash is internally PATA, and there were inexp...

Re: About ReactOS 0.4
I am solidly of the opinion that v1.0 will be released sometime in the 21st Century. I make no predictions about the release dates for 0.4 and 0.3.17, but I expect them in the early part of the 21st Century. Sorry we can't be more specific than that. How to speed up the process: Donate money so that...

I include every version of each game on my website, whenever possible. Some visitors like to see how the game evolved over time, sometimes older versions had features that were dropped from later versions, and sometimes older versions had bugs that were fun to exploit. I suspect the OP is simply cur...
