Re: Clinging to Windows Classic
Once ReactOS reaches a more mature stage it could support a theme manager or such.
Re: Two Items
When you say provide does it have to be downloadable from the site or can it be released upon request by individuals? I believe that the GPL allows you to do either, although "downloadable from the site" is preferred over "released upon request" - the main thing is that the user...
Re: Two Items
Hello, Does React OS support USB, Serial, Parallel and .Net and Microsoft MySQL server? I'm working on extending USB support to include full support for USB 1.1 and 2 devices. This will take 2-3 months to complete. Serial support is present. Parallel... someone else should answer that question (guy...

Re: Programs That Require Validation
Speaking as a web developer I'd be overjoyed if IE doesn't find its way on ReactOS.

Re: SMP Support
I'm looking to run ReactOS in a cluster inside a vm over 4-8 cores. I'd simply use Wine but the particular application (folding at home) windows smp client requires to be able to install stuff as a service and Wine doesn't and can't by nature really support that. Also the native linux client is 64b...

Re: ReactOS and Server 2003 version
Once ROS implements the Vista/Win2k8 APIs, I have no doubt that it'll begin to identify itself as NT 6.1

Re: ReactOS Mod Site
ReactOS Synthesis for those not in the know, is a project which aims to use ReactOS components to replace or even upgrade functionality in Windows (XP SP3 ATM). Why? Because it allows one to test ROS components within a perfectly* stable and debugged environment. Something like that is impossible w...

Re: ReactOS Mod Site
I was thinking that this project might more or less integrate with my ReactOS Synthesis project. ReactOS Synthesis for those not in the know, is a project which aims to use ReactOS components to replace or even upgrade functionality in Windows (XP SP3 ATM). The project could be expanded to accomodat...

Re: Long Filename support in ROS explorer(-new) ?
That's almost invisible defect. Comparing to others. :) Though when it hits it's akin to a brick wall: In our company we have some users creating nested folder structures with long path and filenames that can exceed the limit of 255 characters. These users complain that a doubleclick in windows exp...

Re: Long Filename support in ROS explorer(-new) ?
But that's user mode stuff, not the kernel, which is retarded. Grep in particular through base/ and dll/win32/ reveals many places where something like WCHAR szFullPath[MAX_PATH]; is proudly declared. Well, to me that's another case of being broken. If the OS's own components can not even support t...
