that's what forums ara for.
I think it's nice to see someone who likes what he has seen so far, thaks for the feedback. When we come closer to the beta release we will see much things working in ReactOS that makes it more like a usual OS, that will be nice. Til then we need a lot of the things that we aren't too good at yet. c...

0.3.1
Jag måste säga att ni har lyckats bra med 0.3.1 ganska stabil med hänsyn till alla stora omskrivningar av kärna m.m. Det är bara att gratulera och lyckönska!

Booting from USB doesn't work
Booting from USB doesn't work yet, it must be supported by the OS, cause wen the OS takes over after FreeLoader the system halts if USB boot isn't supported. However, this will be supported in the future aswell as installing to USB. Even the documented to work BartPE USB Boot support is greately dep...

downloader
This is where the Download! application takes over, apps that does't naturally suits in the ROS tree might get a place in the Download! app so it gets really simple to install. And yes if someone makes a Windows-FUSE it should work in Ros out of the box too. This however may take a while until Ros i...

win2k and ros = true
Prior to 0.3.1 I used to dualboot win2k and ros, that worked like a charm. Both Windows and ReactOS on the same partition haven't made any faults what so ever.
Reacter did you change %System Root% in Vista to c:\reactos any time, that should create a conflict like the one you're mentioning?

DirectX rewrite
Actually, it's a bigger chance to get games working on 0.2.8 - 0.3.0 because GreatLord's rewrite of Ddraw. Yet another thing is that Winesupports DX from 2-9 but ReactOS will only support the same as Windows (DX 8-9 (or what ever the numbers were) for now and hopefully 10 later). When 0.3.2 is relea...

0.3.1 works good under QEmu on Transmeta
Wonderful!
ReactOS 0.3.1 works good under QEmu on Transmeta just as good as 0.2.8.

Hmm...
GreatlordiX :D This sounds like a Linux flavour, and it is confusingly similar to Greatlordish that is his own plus-package for any language he speak ;-) If Greatlord should be in the name GreatX sounds cool to me. But then should we should rename Kernel KernelION, win32k win32seek and plug n' play...

OLPC we have tried that...
Yes, we have had discussions with the OLPC board to make ReactOS the standard OS for that machine, but they went for Linux, I am not sure why, but my guess is that they want to start with a stable core. In one or two years it may be realistic to take upp the discussions with projects like that again...

Yes, but not in a near future.
I talked with the one recoding the kernal right now, he said that it would probably be such a project later on, so yes, but not right now, first a complete ReactOS then RosCE. But then again, no plans or guidlines or timelines are done so far, so don't blame me if nothing isn't happening.

Build time switches...
When there is a patent for example for some typface rendering we use buildtime switches to turn off that code so someone from a country doesn't have to break any laws or trespass on any patents.

No not yet...
I have worked with this a bit, and I gave up and asked GreatLord, one of the developers who also tried the same thing together with Fireball our project coordinator. They didn't succede either because yet there's not enough support for USB Drives. When freeloader takes over after BIOS it loasd drive...
