Re: Name change suggestion
being the boot loader, if people know its name they will probably already know enough about the rest anyway. besides, an OS suitable for lazy people would be a good thing wouldn't it (ie. easy to use?)?

Re: help32.exe - It isn't present
Although I think reactos should have winhelp32 I'm not sure it actualy fits the does "windows have it" test, current windows versions no longer include winhelp32, only old versions do. I believe Microsoft no longer sells XP as of 31 jan 2009 (individual shops will still have stock).

Re: windows 7 beta
the page file is not all that important, xp embeded has is disabled by default. that said, I wouldn't suguest disabling it on a normal system dispite the aparent lack of its need I do bielieve it does do something important. I tried win7 on a virtual machiene. not a big change from vista just a few ...

Re: why not real hardware?
I think a lot of the issue may be that Reactos doesn't (yet) load third party drivers (or at least not many). running in a virtual machiene onle a small set of drivers are required, on real hardware a much larger set may be required (possably some important ones), allong with other reasons.

stability
I havn't played with reactos for a while but I donloaded a new release recently and once I eventualy got it to run (vmware problems, not Reactos) I were surprised at the amazing stability. every time I have run Reactos in the past it would run for a while and crash a bit (blue screens mostly) but no...

Re: Hi there. I am new here. need some info to catch me up...
a lot of installers work but probably not ones dealing with the system as much as the DX one would. it is unlikely that at this stage any of the DX files would work to any advantage more than the Reactx files. I have some idea thath the licence actualy specified that DX can only be installed onto wi...

Re: Can we expext a new release one of these days ?
I'm not terably upset by the delays, but it would be good to have a moving prediction. Like it has been delayed and looks hard to fix, move the prediction to a month or 2 more or it has been delayed but doesn't look that hard, prediction moved to a weeks time. if need be keep moving the prediction s...

Re: What the?
this site fairly much sumerises what anoys me about most cross platform opensource. on the main page it says "you can use windows applications and data" and alos says it is not vunrable to viruses etc, that is not possable, clearly but they will claim it anyway. alos listed on the site: su...

Re: Game for ReactOS
I would have voted against paintball but not against a first persion shooter, possably against th cube or crystal space engine but not nesessery against other engins. I am interested but unfortunaly probably can't do much to help. I think unless you can do a lot of it yourself it is probably not goi...

Re: Color Depth More Than 32-Bit And Odd Settings
not realy the same thing (software I think) but I used to have win98 in "my computer" with no disks selected reporting on the status bar that I had something like 4.7EB free space (now that would be a serious disk) (not sure what the numbers were but iw was in exabytes)

I'm sure reactos will support dial up one day but not very soon. your best option at this stage would be a windows reinstall by the sounds of it (or better still fix what ever is making your windows install unstable) currently you will find reactos more unstable than any window install. Reactos woul...

1 most programs will do something, almost none will work properly (it is alpha after all) 2 not likely, feal free to try. I think Reactos probably won't run openGL well enough and probably won't run networking well enough. their is also no sound working yet. I suspect you mean because the downloaded...
