w3seek - no forum and reactsoft.com site when time allows

w3seek said: I'm not sure if i'm going to launch the forums again... ...if i'm bored some day I'm going to setup the site, but I've been really busy with university and ROS development, so if anyone wants to write a simple website for the downloads, feel free to contact me I agree with you, this for...

Scedule for Reinstallation

w3seek I really want to encourage you in your Reactsoft.com site, it was really good both daily builds and the forum, but now I wonder about when you plan to have the site up and running again. I really would like to follow the progress in networking, I can hardly bare to wait. Do you have a date wh...

Win9x drivers for ReactOS

There is many reasons why Win9x drives would be interesting, for example, the system would be a good replacement OS for the ones with outdated hardware wanting a modern operating system. Darklin wrote: I would think the person who had a device that they just 'had' to use a vxd for would be better se...

Drivers for win9x to ReactOS!!!

Talking about driver support: DocPheniX wrote: 1 - standard win32 driver installer support above I'm talking about win32 not just win nt 4 (nt, 2k, xp, 2k3 server drivers) that would make this os much more versatile than any of the os's listed. really now, how many of you bought a peice of hardware ...

Porting ReactOS to different Hardware...

Hello, I was thinking about Linux and different ports, it is ported to just everything from toasters to mainframes for atomic power calculations. I am curious about what will happen when ReactOS is stable enough for a release, how much work will it be to port it to say the PowerPC and exchange the M...

Windows NT compared with Windows CE

Is there someone who know how big the difference between the core and the basic system in Windows NT is compared with Windows CE? The reason to this question is that I wonder how much work it is to port Reactos to a Pocket PC ones it´s stable. Of course it´s not just a port, but how much of the core...

Similar to this but for Binaries?

Hello, blight said:
is the information for the files in the ROS project, but I wonder if there is a similar list for the binaries so there is easy to know what file is needed for what?

That would really help for those ones wanting to make a distribution.

Embedded use for ReactOS

uniQ wrote: It will be excellent for old machines, minimal router/gateway setups, maybe even embedded firmware for routers, just with a config app and a familar GUI. To use ReactOS in embedded systems would be a lot better then the Window XP dito, being able to customize the code exactly for the int...

LitePC

A minimalistic installation of a Windows computer can be made through the LitePC software http://www.litepc.com This software is more like a custom installation software or deinstallation software for different parts of the windows operating system. This should be in the ReactOS installation softwar...

Network in Dec-Jan

Yes, as you said, networking will be ready soon, and I think more people want that rather then OpenOffice, but if Art Yerkes and his co-workers keep their goal they will release ver 0.3 before January, but as you probably noticed software development is often delayed. But as the developers said, it ...

Network even sooner...

Yes, Open Office is an importand stepstone, but network will be released this year and that is also a great stepstone, a lot will happen when reactos can use the web, mail, irc, im, ftp and many other sorts of applications.
We hope for a successful releas later this month!
Good luck guys!

Minimalistic Distribution Again

Okay, it´s not good to sacrifice ReactOS features to make it able to run on to old computers, but I was more talking about configuration and selection of features plus optimization. It would possibly be good with some diffierent compilations of the ReactOS system one for optimizing speed, one for op...

Minimalistic Distribution

I was thinking about using my old computers with ReactOS, but I realized it consumes pretty much resorses compared to a really old computer (i386 sx 16 5M 60M HDD), is it possible to make some new installation options? Slim, UltraSlim and TEXT for examle. The goal would be to replace DOS and Win3.x ...
