Re: Reactos on Youtube

Exactly, that's the point of Reactos: an open-source OS that could run all your applications, even the non-free ones.

Re: Question to ARWINSS

Nope, it cant. We wont overwrite the existant subsystem. I thought this is clear already... No it is not clear. From the pdf http://www.reactos.org/media/docs/2010/arwinss.pdf it seems clear that Fireball intend to replace the existing system with arwinss. And I thought that other developers agreed.

Re: It's 5th 10.2009. Where's 0.4.2?

Why not just removing the note on the main page? These kind of endless/useless discussions would stop?

Or put an further date (e.g. November)? Maybe 2 months is not enough... Maybe 4 months would be more realistic and people would stop whining.

if you don't like the direction this project is taking, go find something else better to do with your time than whining. I never meant that. Sorry if I offended you. I mean it might take 2 or more years to raise $50000 enough to employ someone full time Indian developers could be hired for m...

Re: It's 5th 10.2009. Where's 0.4.2?

But more releases gives more visibility to the project. Which would attract new users/testers/developers. Also Reactos team should try to find a sponsor or another way to raise funds. Then a system of 'bounties' could be implemented, which would lead to more developer work. It works well for ...

No. Obviously, ReactOS won't have the same security holes as Windows, since they do not share code.

Microsoft releases Open-source code

Microsoft releases Open-source code http://blogs.zdnet.com/open-source/?p=4528 Microsoft’s decison to release 20,000 lines of device driver code under GPLv2 is viewed as a big deal but not that surprising given the context. After all, the only technology Microsoft fears more than Linux is VMware’s b...
