Trying the self compile, but takes forever

I am testing the self-compiling on real hardware, as my ReactOS installation has no networking connection, I cloned the git repo on linux, and saved the source in E:\ReactOS\SRC, and installed RosBE in E:\RosBE Running RosBE with E:\ReactOS\SRC as baseaddress, I execute the configure.cmd script, and...

Re: Project Install ReactOS 4.9 on a ThinkPad T23 instead of WindowsXP

Video of the installation with drivers setup, testing some system settings and programs like Firefox, Diablo II, Wordpad, MS Excel viewer etc. https://youtu.be/LfPtI7xlnKA So far feels like an older Linux, some drivers are working, some are not, and some apps work, but still in Alpha. Notably absen...

Vgal's patches should be included in the trunk in my opinion

Re: Project Install ReactOS 4.9 on a ThinkPad T23 instead of WindowsXP

This part of the wiki says that USB sticks are supported but the other version says it isn't. USB Mass Storage is implemented in USBSTOR driver and is fully working. Tested in WinXP + USBEHCI + USBSTOR. Mass storage support requires bulk and control transfers, which are implemented in USBEHCI. http...

Re: ReactOS 0.4.9 released

LiveUSB work just isn't merged in yet. Such undertaking must be very carefully reviewed before even risking it. As for networking, there is work being done for a few more drivers, specifically Intel e1000 which should target VMWare's network adapter. If you mean making it overall more stable, then ...

Re: ReactOS 0.4.9 released

Everything is ok, but ReactOS needs more attention on his USB stack, and in his networking compat. There is a lot of reports of bugs for both areas, but seems our developers has been gone :( :(

Re: Can't get to First Base with LiveCD

Thanks for your response. Actually the disk I was thinking about installing it onto is a disk that I install programs and keep data only. It isn't the Win root disk. But it does contain "precious data." So in view of that, then, I guess I should prepare a separate partition? Also, will Re...

Does need ReactOS a NT7+ driver compat layer?

This question is about the fact that as Windows NT 5.x are not longer supported by MS, hardware manufacturers only distribute drivers for supported Windows versions (at this moment 7+), and ReactOS can have a serious trouble as could be tagged as an obsolete only hardware support, that can be a good...

Why some asserts doesn't allow a kdbg prompt?

Some asserts in reactos, specially on screen debug mode, doesn't allow a kdbg> prompt, which could be very useful to do some tasks such as rebooting the system from the debugger.

This one is the more descriptive example

Re: My future goal of using ReactOS

I'm with you ROCKNROLLKID, in fact I am using ReactOS in my new HP laptop which had freedos installed by default, so, I was free to choice the operating system(s) to install, I partitioned the hard disk in 3 partitions, to install first TinyCoreLinux, and on the second partition ReactOS, the third p...

Re: MSGithub

ReactOS Looses / Discards changes made before crashing

This is a old issue that I've noted with RoS, suppose this scenario: Fresh install, I choose a screen resolution, install some apps, create or download files from internet, etc, then a FSE appears and the entire system has to be turn off and rebooted. After rebooting you can notice that the changes ...
