Re: Regarding requirements to access heavy sites
I'm afraid that if Lubuntu doesn't cut it, ReactOS's overhead isn't that much lower (which Lubuntu already has quite low) for the machine to handle YouTube. For lower resolutions, maybe, but you will definitely need to use some kind of hardware acceleration on the Atom to play anything beyond 720p, ...

Re: File Copy time estimates
As the network bandwidth increases and many consumers (who don't want to understand the complexity of giving a good prediction) are switching from HDDs to SSDs, I think this problem is not as bad as it was earlier. BTW, thanks for linking The Old New Thing, luckily I've read only about three or four...

Re: 16-bit Windows Program Support

Re: Question and suggestion about WSL
It's (officially) exclusively targeted at developers, and I very welcome this move. Finally I can use a proper command line client on Windows.MadWolf wrote:is there any point to running Linux software on windows ?

Re: Question and suggestion about WSL
they actually want a ReactOS distribution of Debian Can you elaborate? On another point - even the WSL itself is getting into usable shape these days, and only if you are an Insider. ReactOS devs actually still have to wait for WSL to stabilise before they can hope to reimplement it :-) WSL also ad...

@EmuandCo: Getting pissed after one arguably unreasonable demand will get you a heart attack very soon in this industry Please don't take project questions too personally, the project needs you.

Re: Firefox 49.0 requires SSE2 instructions
That's why I ask, what's wrong with staying on Firefox 48? security holes are not patched I would say that's a good point unless this was part of the article Yes, they almost all are on Windows XP. The users don't care about the security holes anyway if they stay on XP... unless there are system up...

smart enough to disable their phone-home stuff In my own personal experience, we pat ourselves on our backs for being smart and disabling this phone-home stuff... then we complain about new changes made - based exactly on this data we opted out of... And frankly, if those people use 10+ years old C...

Re: Windows 10 signature program now denies other OSs
I guess that all games creators also want to kill non-Windows OSes since they support DirectX11/12 only, same kind of argument Fortunately Vulkan seems to become a good way for both Windows and Linux.
