Re: PS/2 mouse not found
You don't have to test every version. Take one from the middle of time. If it works take a newer one (the middle again) and if not, take an older one.

Right! At least if someone, who is skilled enough, comes and implements it soon. Maybe it's time for you to submit a first pull request? Better sooner than later, right?

Re: Why Reactos is so much Linux-like?
It is not Linux like at all. If you mean the tango icons, yes they are ugly as hell. Feel free to create new ones but keep in mind that it's not done with some folder and drive icons. There are a few hundred icons to design what's a task of months even for someone skilled.

Re: How do you disable the fat shutdown dialog buttons in recent nightly builds?
@binarymaster: how is this done? Doesn't use windows use some fancy proprietary lib for that (directui or how it's called)? Is there some custom drawing function used?

Re: Trials and tribulations
Hello and welcome. Glad to read about your interest in ReactOS in general and the shell in special. For the first questions I have to ask you with which version of windows did you compare? I am one of the guys who almost completed the missing icons in shell32 and the version I took as template was 2...

Re: Why Reactos is so much Linux-like?
> btw, where people, that can do all these icons/logos hang out on the Internet? I have made some Linux icons before for a distro I was contributing to. I would love to contribute icons to ReactOS. How can I do this though, since icons in Windows are embedded into the DLLs? Does ReactOS have a mean...

Re: OS-related humor
I just read a story about a scene group that got busted in the 80s. The cops took every media they found but punched the floppies to put them into a folder. Good old German bureaucracy.

Sure. If anyone intends to implement this component. This did not happen yet. For now the VB runtime can be downloaded via rapps.

Re: (Not) missing VB runtime
The project you mention only offers an installer for these components. The implementation of them inside reactos is still missing so it should not be removed.

Re: Using ReactOS to learn Windows System programming -is it viable?
Hello and welcome. Imo it's one of the most valuable use cases of reactos to study how windows works. Many news sites state that the leak is so critical because many windows components still rely on this old code, so I suspect that the differences are not as much as it seems. Surely many stuff was a...

It would also be nice if someone could fix all Bugs in Jira. Tbh, Fix it by self and send a PR. Alternatively I can only quote Jimtabor: Stay out!!!
