That attitude simply won't cut it if you're an icon designer. If you want to be lazy, you should do something that doesn't involve meticulous pixeling.

More difficult job will be converting them to 16 and 256 colors depth. You have a palette and must use these predefined colors. But maybe there exist a good prog for doing it. Reality check: you have to do it by hand. Any automated conversion from 32-bit to 4-bit (16 colour) VGA palette will look p...

 Is it wasted if it means the project will look nicer once visual styles are supported? I don't expect that the project will stop before it becomes a finished, full-fledged operating system, will it? It's wasted because by the time visual styles are implemented this thread will be long forgott...

I hope you all realise this is all wasted effort because we're not going to have visual styles support in ReactOS anytime soon?

A live search, you know, wouldn't be stealing from Vista: it was in Mac OS X long before. And it was in Longhorn alphas/betas long before it was in Mac OS X. I really don't care who steals from who, in fact I never cared. Maybe you should refresh your views on the matter by watching "Pirates o...

Well that's hardly an improvement usability-wise. It's still just a flat menu, with a fair bit too much spacing between the items if I may add. Anyhow, I've investigated the start menu issue back in 2002 when XP was just released, here's a mockup (back then I still ran win2k): http://mufunyo.net/gui...

Hey Jim,

I just wanted to mention that I find it very brave of you to dare discussing this and risking to be flamed. Restecp++, we are behind you. :)

Cheers.

So that would be great! And maybe say "Alpha" instead of "0.3.3" so you don't have to change it for a year or two? And can it face inward (to the page it is on)? And in PNG also, right? :D Well, I originally wanted it to face the other way, but the problem is, that you wouldn't ...

If there is no real official CD package, I don't see the problem with the imitation (it didn't really take much time, probably less than it would to find the original). But where is the PDF vector of the image and cover? Actually, it's right there on the download page . If you scroll down it says: ...

There is a downloadable PDF of that cover. You really didn't have to do all that work to imitate it. Also, this "unusual perspective" is just a nice 3d render. The 2-dimensional version is available here . I really think it's a better idea (and less work) to simply ask me (the author of th...

It'll be hard proving that, because globally, IE is still the most used.
