Re: Upload filters

I find regulations like these concerning, and I also find the non-civil attitude towards those at this forum who look at the larger picture of possible government collusion and misconduct to be concerning. If someone believes something underhanded is happening, I see it as their civil responsibility...

Re: Forks contributions back to ReactOS?

The Fusion above, I can't tell what was done and they have no pages discussing it. Besides, it would be incompatible as they use various forms of Pascal and Basic as well.

Re: Please add the modified Lautus-theme of GreenteaOS

There are 404's with most of their links. Too bad, as I was pulling for the fork to work.

Re: Reasons for ReactOS Wiki

Was it PurpleGurl who placed a link to the Reasons for ReactOS page within the the About ReactOS page in the ReactOS Wiki? Whoever did that made a good choice, I believe. The About ReactOS page is the first page listed under the heading Documentation on the ReactOS Wiki's home page (front page). Th...

Re: Answer cut off on FAQ

Yes. It should at least say to go to the icon below it about how to report bugs. I did an inspect, and the text is actually missing. That is all that was inserted into the Q&A.

Re: Multicore

Yes Thomas, I somehow missed the ARM part... And I can see MPS as useful if the APIC HAL cannot initialize, but the ACPI HAL should obviously be the priority. Thanks, and my apologies for posting in this thread.

Re: Multicore

But I can't even find tech data like what ports to probe, how to set modes, or other things about how to enter multicore, how to swap between cores, how to communicate between cores, etc.

Re: HTML Renderers

Mozilla doesn't have to support it if we have a fork, it should still be in the repository. There was the Mshtml.dll GSOC project to create a wrapper for Gecko...

HTML Renderers

Since the GSOC thread is starting to fill with discussions of Webkit vs. Gecko, I think it's time for a thread just for that. I've wanted to see Webkit be adapted to use as our MSHTML renderer thing for some time. Yet there are the political implications and the possible attempts at a monopoly. Mayb...

Re: Google Summer of Code 2019 Ideas

Well, Webkit is old work. They now use Blink. I would love to see the speed enhancement of Webkit and see that available for the entire OS. If it is less than compliant, the fork we use could be modified. But I also get your comments on it. Google would then have the main share. Microsoft dropped th...

Reasons for ReactOS Wiki

The 57 reasons thread began to drift off topic. So I created this thread to discuss the wiki page inspired by the 57 reasons without polluting the original thread and its intent. What about a bullet point to each reason on the page Reasons for ReactOS ? And a link from the front page of the wiki to ...

Re: Google Summer of Code 2019 Ideas

That could be a good idea and something a GSOCer could do. It would have to be done for Windows at this point, as our NTFS support is not complete. Along this line, it seems all 3 strategies have their uses. I liked the "crawling" approach that Windows 9x used. I think 2000 used a hybrid a...

Re: 57 specific reasons for wanting ReactOS:

On lost pages... all you have to do is Special Pages: Orphan Pages, and then make a reference to them in a relevant article or at least give it a category. If you want a link from the front page, it should go on a page that is linked to the front page. I mean, if there is an information page about R...

Re: IRC on homepage

Yes, the channels now require registration on Freenode, presumably because of spam problems they've been having. If you are still having trouble, you can use the new chat mentioned above this post.
