Re: EPIC WIN!

The multi-desktop "technology" of our current (old) explorer (or the one in Windows 10) is completely different from the desktop technology the Sysinternals "Desktops" tool use. The former one is just having the explorer maintaining lists of windows (basically...) whereas the la...

Re: ReactOS 0.0.17

It sort of works. I made a video of what is happening: http://youtu.be/Xl8VTKENUc4 Any suggestions about the loading drivers errors? Okay? Did the boot floppy have himem.sys loaded? You might need it. Run mem.exe to see. Make sure drive C: is the first partition too. Extermination might be required...

Re: ReactOS 0.0.17

Wow, Why does anyone play with old computer systems? To see how it worked perhaps? Then why bother to do anything at all? Just stay in your box and watch the shadow puppet show (LCD/LED) on your wall.... Live off bread and circuses (sports programming)! Arrest your development. Jim, Jim, Jim, have ...

Re: ReactOS 0.0.17

Load FreeDOS or some other version of DOS, do not load himem.sys or you should?... Then after booting DOS run boot.bat. This was the Free9x ReactOS boot method before the NT boot was added..... I even booted ReactOS from Windows 9X while it booted in DOS Command mode too.... HiMem.sys was needed but...

Re: Prevent fork bomb

Older OS's allowed a fixed amount of processes to be created. Depending on the type of system, it was at least 32 max.

Re: Have you any persistent bug(s) that irritate you?

Have you any persistent bug(s) that irritate you? I have two! Number one is: the constant hammering of the floppy drive every time you navigate around in Explorer(old). Number two is: the mouse sticking to the window when you either move the window or re-size the window. Will they be gone when Expl...

Re: Call for Testing: Shell Bringup

Some menus and toolbar buttons do not behave as expected

Menus open on Mouse Button Up, Windows opens them on Mouse Button Down.
Test it with wine, I'm sure it is a hacky wine'ism to detect double click of the mouse.
