Te recomiendo (para no perder el tiempo de instalar y desinstalar SO's en las compus) que primero pruebes las aplicaciones instalando los dos en una máquina virtual, y recién si funcionan ahí intentes en el hardware real con una probabilidad alta de que (si corre el SO) funcionen las apps.

The one I suggested, like I said, don't know if it has a windows port, if it got it, I think is not a bad alternative, Evince, but however, I think there isn't a win port because is part of the gnome project.
